I read on another post about someone re-installing theie operating system from the recovery partition on their G1S with out the recovery CD. Is it possible to do this on the V1S which also has a recovery partition? If so how?

    yes it is possible.

    1. Back up your data.
    2. BACK UP YOUR DATA! :)
    3. Reboot the computer, press F9 at the ASUS splashscreen. Follow the instructions.

I recommend putting all the data on the D: partition, and selection to recover to 1st partition only. You should still do the backup though, things might go wrong.

Be aware that this will automatically install all the ASUS & 3rd party utilities (bloatware). There is a way to avoid that when you recover from the CDs. (search for that one)
