Hi guys, I was so happy to revceive 4GB of RAM (2 x 2GB) and I could not wait to install on my Asus V2je laptop. I am now using Windows Vista Business 32bit on this lappy.

Unfortunately, Windows only recognized 2.4 GB of RAM right at the first boot  . Both CPU Z and Everest show 4096 MB of RAM on 2 module. I expected that since I am using windows 32bit, I could have from 3GB-3.5 Gb of RAM.

Is there anything I can do to increase the RAM utilized by windows? I just cannot afford to pay more than $100 to install windows 64bit.

Try updating your bios and all windows updates.
Have you tried to put a 2gb stick + a 1gb stick? Does that give you the same results?

FYI, The Asus V2je uses the Intel 945 PM Express Chipset so will not be able to see and use 4GB even with a 64bit OS. The 2.4GB is probably related to hardware/chipset issue.

Your V2JE only supports up to 2gb of ram. This is a limitation due to the motherboard.

Thank you guys. I should read the memory expansion ability before buying more RAM.
At least 2.4GB is better than 2GB :(
