My V2S is still just the way I bought it. 2GB memory. I want to upgrade to 4GB.

The specs say there are 2 memory banks. I opened the back and only see one stick, so it's got to be a 2GB stick.

My problem is that it's not apparent to me that there is another bank to place another 2GB stick. There seems to be some connectors below the top bank where the memory is installed, but I can't tell that it's designed to hold another stick. I'm not a mechanical type of guy, so I could be wrong. Maybe the second bank is somewhere else ?

Can I safely buy another 2GB stick and be sure I can "stick" it inside ?

    Thanks,

    George from Bedford, TX

Firstly, check that you indeed have 1x2GB and not 2x1GB. To do that, use CPU-Z. Check the SPD tab for your RAM configuration.

Secondly, if the slot is not under the laptop, then it's probably under the keyboard. Check the RAM upgrade guide on the Info Booth for how to access that area of the notebook.

Finally, be aware that if you're using a 32bit operating system, you're not going to be able to use the entire 4GB. Only 3 up to 3.5.
