I just realized that the only windows software included with my G1s is the ASUS recover DVD.

Is there a way to do a clean windows install with this? (without the bloatware)

How is everyone going about this? I was expecting a copy of windows Home premium by itself but GenTech just told me its not included in the G1s package...

That isn't going to work. You can, however, get a Vista AnyTime Upgrade disc (shouldn't cost more than $10) and use the key on the bottom of your notebook to do a clean install.

Can I use my friend's Vista Home Premium disc and use the key on my laptop with that? (his disc is a general upgrade disc bought at walmart)

If not, where do I get a Vista AnyTime Upgrade disc?

You can always try it, and if it doesn't work than just use your recovery dvd.

If this were XP, I'd say no it won't work because your friend's disk is not an OEM disk, and the key on the bottom of the notebook is an OEM key.

Probably the same for Vista. You'd need an OEM disk.
