Hi,
I have a problem with my B key on my laptop. after random amount of time it disables itself or becomes an X key or Left arrow. I don't know what is wrong i have tried the following.
-swap the notebook for another one.
-swap for new memory
-reinstall OS
-reinstall everything
well everything was basically changed except for the Hard drive could this be causing this?
I could of swapped it for anotehr hp or similiar but for the price range i love the W3N.
Any tips?
Thanks

Ok... so your "B" key has gender issues.... or something... and to try to solve it you .... 1 swapped it for another one... thats odd but if this happened on more than one computer you have to look at the operator! I'm not saying it's you, but maybe some spyware or a corrupt file that you just don't know about.
2. memory swap... good idea to always check that first, but not in this case
3. reinstall the OS... great idea...... did this happen with just a format and OS install? I'm curious if it started happening AFTER some other software was installed.
Did you try to swap the keyboard itself? I'm not sure what was happening with the other computer you said you swapped it for, but besides being possessed... I can't think of why TWO computers would do this same thing to the same person. -
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah it hought i covered all my track Beside the Hdd. it is acutally happenning now as i type this. have to copy and paste the key from another location to use it.
I did a fresh format and install my own os and the drivers from the driver disk. I replace the single 256 with two set of 512 and even swapped these with new ones.
tried swapping the keyBoard from a new laptop over and swappign new laptop too still same proB.
now the key is mapped to F4 key or something everytime i press it explorer goes fullscreen.
It is my work laptop and has the same spec of software as on my previous laptop.
I might try fresh install again see how it goes when i get less work at work.

That's ODD... I can't say that I've ever seen something like that happen that wasn't linked to spyware of some sort of a failure in the software of keyboard itself...... a format and/or a keyboard swap would have taken care of it in 99.9% of the situations.
