W90 is the beast :) . The G71 while still a good gaming machine is not going to fare well against the W90 from a pure gaming perspective.

REALLY? The W90 is THAT much better than the G71????

I need it also for 2d/3d animation work. Lots of photoshop and photo editing!

Which one will be better for my work??

Also, how much is the W90? I'm in Toronto

The W90 has Crossfire 4870M. A single 4870 should be more powerful than a GTX 260M let alone two.....

    Good afternoon!

Are you sure about that, since many think the M17x from Alienware , with eitehr 2x GTX260M or 280M's is the ultimate?

I am considering both, and while I know this is teh ASUS forums :), I'd like to see a bit of hard facts, specmarks or whateve rbacking this up?

Let me know, I'm really interested in this :)

    Thx & take care

Overall, the W90 is slightly more powerful than an M17x with dual GTX260m's and slightly less powerful than one with 280m's

He said nothing about the M17x, nor SLId GTX 260ms or 280ms.

He said that 2 HD 4870s > 1 GTX 260m. 1 on 1, the HD 4870 is a step ahead of the GTX 260m, therefor, 2 of them will undoubtedly be better than a single GTX 260m.

Given that you are doing photoshop and video editing, its much more important to have a good CPU rather than killer GPUs.

The GTX 260M in G71s or G51s is more than powerful enough to handle what you're doing. Just make sure you're getting either a high end dual core or a quad core.
