I'm a university student and i'm seriously looking at the Asus N81VP-C1 to be my primary computer in the near future
http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-n81vpc1-order-p-2557.html.
I'm a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago and will be studying in Barbados , i'd just like some advice from all you experienced Asus owners :
1. How does the asus 'Global warranty' work ? Will i be applicable for the full 2 year warranty and 1 year accident/damage protection? Being a non US citizen?
2. Say my laptop is damaged and i ship it to a service center in say , Florida by Fed Ex air , will i be covered by paid shipping?
3. How has your experience been wtih Asus support and their products?
advice and tips in general? Thanks in advance

The service is quite crappy too: he sent in a faulty battery and they returned him a "new one"... except that it was the very same! Same serial number and, naturally, still faulty.
I'd avoid ASUS like the plague. -
In North America the service is better than that in Europe (unfortunately that doesn't help us Europeans). Off topic: what laptops did your father have and what went wrong with them? Which service point did you use?
Now to the OP.
2 year warranty is global; but I believe the accidental damage protection is not -- unless you would be sending it back to the US to claim it, which may work.
Not sure how shipping works. At least in theory shipping to the nearest service point should be covered by the warranty, but when that includes flying it by airplane, I don't know. -

ASUS International warranty does not work, it just a scam. Save yourself a lot of trouble and avoid ASUS. Happy hacking.

Anyone else got problem with the right button on the mousepad? I got it back after 1 day lol. They told me they replaced it. So they had parts >.>. Anyway my wife ish back at 100% again xD.
I heard alot of bad things about Asus support in UK etc. But at least if you need repairs in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, if they aren't fast at least they will be very friendly and even offer you something to drink xD.
