Note that I only listed the new laptops mentioned in this issue's Asus World Magazine. Some of the laptops listed have already been mentioned at CES.

 

I'm rather sure they meant 3DMark06 for the G51jx-3D

Hmm. Nothing really earthshattering this time around.

Still looking towards a desktop 2xx mobile shrink.

Or maybe Fermi. One can hope.

Awww, and I thought I'd see a successor to the N80/81.

Still, those are pretty decent mainstream laptops though.

i dont know about you guys but that seems to be a pretty good line up for q1 2010

 

I thought the 3D was suppose to be a lower resolution than 1920x1080.

 

Yea they all look very nice, I'd buy them all if I could rofl But with such a big choice its going to be really hard to decide, I think i'll just go for the most expensive g73.

 

U30JC looks nice....and is there a mix between the A and K series? .... both same specs ...hmmm

 

anyone have any more info on the u30jc. I just want to know if the cd rom is a usb drive one or if its part of it. Man just when I was going to get the UL30vt I see this new U30. Good thing I dont need this laptop right away. I can wait a while.

maybe its a Entry level vantage score (lower res)

 

Anyone know where to get this beautiful lappy with the corei5? All the redistributers I have checked only allow the corei7 parts.

 

Me too; that is one of the reasons I was not considering that model.

 

It's internal. It's a DVD super-multi/BlueRay combo.

I have the same feeling about this one. The specs sounds right so far, but I'm curious about battery life. Besides, I already ordered a UL30VT. If the U30JC turns out to be a winner perhaps I can talk the wife into taking over the VT...

 

They did. On their global page, it shows that exact score but listed as 3DMark06. Plus to rationalize, the 3DMark Vantage score for the g73JH-A1 is 7,000 ish and there is no way that the g51jx will have a higher score with half the ram and a far weaker video card.

It is supposed to have a 1200x768p max resolution because there are no FHD 15.6 laptop panels with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It seems they took the exact specs for the g51jx and copied it for the 3d version. However you never know, they could have found someone developing a FHD version of this screen which would be sweet. It would make getting the A1 version a sole matter of budget though, because if it is FHD, then there is no way it is only going to be only $200 more (That is the cost of including the 3D Vision).

u30Jc is my new laptop! as far as i can tell, it is a matte-finish with aluminum cover. that is a bonus!
does anyone know the expected price for it?

I agree. Would like to see this sound system on a 15.6 inch G series.

 

I wonder how the battery life holds up in the U30Jc. The design also reminds me of an older Asus model (the W3 maybe?).

 

The Z63a The W3 had a darker chassis, but yea, the body looks much alike the W3 series, just in reverse(fan n ports were on right side).

When can i get switchable graphics whit something better than 5470?

 

i really want a backlit keyboard...might be a deal breaker for me

I really like the backlit keyboards but it isn't a must for me.

What i really want is a laptop with a SSD and regular HD. I hope this is possible. The N71 really looks interesting for that. But there are 3 types. I can't find the specs for all the types. I would like it with an ATI vid card and the i5 is enough. The i7 is also fine but i won't pay extra for it unless it doesn't meet other requirements i want.

 

N61ja perfect laptop for me and USB 3.0. Does anyone know when it will be available in the UK?

 

I hope Asus can get these new models to market asap. I really like the look of the U33Jt Bamboo.
