Want to install Ubuntu 11.04 on a new ASUS X54C as a dual boot with Windows 7 but am having problems figuring out how to boot off the Ubuntu Live-CD. I hit F2 at start up but the choices given seem more complicated than I've seen in on other PCs/laptops.

What do I have to do to run Ubuntu and then install it on this ASUS X54C notebook?

If you want to boot from a cd, instead of hitting F2, hit ESC. F2 gets you into the bios where you can set the boot device priorities. ESC will just pop a menu allowing to choose boot from HDD, ODD and if available/enabled network or USB.

Thanks tojo, hitting ESC did the trick.

Funny I tried hitting ESC before and nothing. Maybe I didn't hold it long enough.
