ASUS Z33a: Question - 3 cell battery vs 9 cell battery

Hi, first post here.

Just a quick question.

What is the difference between the two batteries besides their battery life?

I know the 9 cell weighs more, but is the physical dimesions (LXHXW) the same as the 3 cell one? Its not those huge battery attachments that makes you're laptop look all chunky is it?

If the dimensions are the same, besides cost and a bit more weight, is there any reason why anyone would not want a 9 cell battery?

it'll stick out about an inch and a half where as the 3 cell sits flush. However the connection to the system makes it seem like one piece, so it's very nice and not like other systems you may see where the extended battery sits out the back.

OK.... try to imagine this..... the 3 cell is about a 1/2"..... triple that and you have an inch and a half....(9cell) ....... double it and you have an inch (6cell) ... so the 6 cell sticks out about a half inch. In the US the 6 cell was never available, but the W5 6 cell is technically the same exact battery minus the little silver pinstriping..

 

If you don't care about the size and weight, 9 cells battery for z33a is worth to have one for backup, it can last 6~7 hrs. When the 3 cells one is dead during the use in outdoor, to swap a 9 cells will be more helpful.

 

It'll last for a plane trip across the US - including all the time spent waiting in the airport........... it's an awesome battery to travel with.... but I wouldn't put it on the notebook unless you know you're going to need that much working time on the laptop without being able to plug in.
