    Hi,

I've had the ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501JW model for five years now, using the HDMI to connect to an external monitor and usb to connect to all the peripherals. I would like to upgrade and get another screen, with the idea being that the laptop is closed and tucked under the desk while connected to two external monitors.
My original plan to connect this was using an i-tec hub which takes in ethernet, hdmi, vba, usb and has a USB-c lead. The problem here is that the ZenBook does not have a usb-c port, so I tried using usb-c to usb adapter but the everything except the displays work.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem, how can I set up two monitors on this laptop?

Another caveat is that I find myself switching between my ZenBook and my work laptop (HP Elitebook) often during the day, having to replug all of the cables. By using the i-tec hub, I thought it would be a simple way of limiting switches to only one cable. Is there a neat solution to this problem?

    Thank you

    you have a displayport.

if you're only using a 1080p second monitor, you can get a cheap $1 dp-hdmi converter.

if you're going 4k, you will need to find an active DP-hdmi adapter.
but not every active adapter is guaranteed to be compatible.
