So I tried to pre-order the 1080p 303LN from Amazon.de earlier today. Shipping to the UK, so still inside the EU and I received the same, "cannot ship to address" as those with USA addresses who tried earlier.

I contacted Amazon.de and asked why, and she told me that it seems that ASUS have made it so that they can only be shipped to their operating country of delivery and not internationally. If this is indeed true and not just an excuse to get me off the phone, then im getting pretty sick and tired of Asus, Not only do they not bring out the 303LN in the UK, but then they make it difficult for those who want it to buy from abroad.

Has anyone else had any luck trying to pre-order, or did a Scandinavian 1080p LN ever surface?

I'm keeping a close eye on the Swedish market (I'm Swedish after all) and there are no 1080 LN available today, just the QHD+ panel which can be bought at www.komplett.se.
    Here you can see the other companies that will get the model in stock;
Asus Zenbook UX303LN-DQ124H - Bärbar dator - Hitta lägsta pris, test och specs
The major companies doesn't seem that interested in buying the 1080 model so we have to wait and see.

Yes, I found other similar 3rd party adapters, but as mentioned, I'm not sure if these adapters (specially the USB to LAN) are plug-n-play or if they also require the specific vendor's drivers I just want to make sure that the one I decide to buy is compatible and does not cause conflict with other hardware/software components.

Btw, maybe I'm confused, but I think I remember seeing an ASUS Zenbook AC Adapter that also had a built-in USB power port. I can't find the video where I saw it and can't remember which model Zenbook either. Any ideas?

Any UX303 users ran Intel's XTU yet?

HP Elitebook 840 G1 allows i7 4600U overclocking and overvolting through XTU. Two users managed to bring the max turbo of 2.9 GHz (when both cores are active) to a stable 3.4 GHz with minimal fluctuation.

I'm very interested if the UX303 allows CPU overclocking, or at least undervolting.

(Though I sorta hesitant to buy the Elitebook due to the excessive 8750M GPU throttling even at 72C.)

I recently ordered the FHD non-touch matte UX303LN (i7, 256 GB SSD, 12 GB RAM) from Amazon.de. What panel does your LN have? I'm a little concerned now, that the FHD matte panel has the same mustard yellow issue as the QHD glossy touch display.

I see it as a bonus. Makes the laptop usable for a little longer before needing replacement, and helps with CPU-limited workload (Planetside 2 and Civ 5 for example).

EDIT: The i7 4600U OCed to 3.4 GHz almost matches the 35W i7-4600M's 3.5 GHz max turbo for two cores.

According to notebookcheck for the UX32LN, the 1090p panel is very high quality and has excellent color accuracy.

The problem is with the 3200x1800 panel. They used a cheaper and lower power design to get to the quad-HD resolution, knowing that color accuracy would be poor.

Bit confused here.. is there a difference between UX303LN- DQ124H and UX303LN- DQ112H?

I have no clue what those numbers mean, but specs appear to be identical.

    Hi there!
Still waiting for the UX303LN here in Italy.
We missed the UX32LN and I'm not sure we can even buy the UX303LN.

Does anybody have any clue on the ASUS release schedule?

    Thanks!

I'm aware that the problem exists mainly on the QHD touch panel. My concerns now are related to the fact that the model that markmandel has purchased is equipped with an i5, 128 GB SSD & 8 GB RAM. As far as I know, the QHD model has only one configuration available (i7, 256 GB SSD & 12 GB RAM). This was the reason why I asked markmandel what type of panel his model is equipped with. Due to the specs mentioned by him, it obviously cannot be the QHD panel. The question is now if it is a FHD non-touch matte or FHD touch glossy variant or something else. Before I put the preorder I also assumed that the quality of the panel must be similar to the FHD non-touch matte panel of the UX32LN reviewed by notebookcheck.

This might seem silly but the screens on these models should be interchangeable. In theory, if two people wanted a screen from a different model, they could simply switch screens. It's just a couple screws and a connector. The key is finding someone who wants to swap. From my experiences with 4k scaling, I think I'm done with it and would want to trade screens with someone who bought the LA model. I'm sure there's going to be LA owners who want QHD+ and LN owners that want FHD

But do you really want to void the warranty on a brand new laptop? That seems like a risky plan.

Ok I'm new to this forum but I've been lurking around on this thread for a while now.

So here is where I am now,

I wanted to wait for the UX303LN with a matte FHD pannel - touch or no touch, I'm not to fussed.

But as I live in the UK my hopes of this being released prior to my needs jumping from "I-need-one-now"
to "Desperation-Mode" diminished by the day as the only version of this zeenbook model that shows up on
any online store is the UX303LA at Amazon stating it will be in stock in 1-2 months time.

So I pulled the trigger, and I hope I don't regret this on the LN version with a QHD+ screen, 8GB Ram, 256GB SSD
from https://www.komplett.se/asus-zenbook-ux303ln-133-qhd-touch/816370 (a Swedish net store) for a higher price
than it would have cost if the computer was actually ever going to be released her in the UK but as I said I really need it asap.

The only concerns I have now is obviously the colour reproduction issue - will Asus ever fix this?
Also if the battery time will be worse on the QHD+ contra the FHD model?

Ps I'm going to Sweden in roughly a weeks time to pick this computer up I'm not sure if Komplett.se sends it overseas.

    Thanks,

    Y

I Googled for yellow and compared the color yellow on my three PCs. My desktop yellows are definitely yellow, yellow. My Yoga 2 13 is greenish yellow, yellow. My Asus UX303LA is almost light green, much more green than the the Yoga. But, I don't think this is the same issue that the 3200x1800 screens have. I think it is a color calibration issue.

    Jim

Edit: I just tried to do a color calibration, but the adjustments do not persist. I reduced the amount of green, but next time I check, it is back to full scale.

Since Amazon has a 30-day return policy and they'll probably ship it in the USA in late August or early September, I will be returning the QHD laptop if a 1080p version shows up during the 30-day return policy period.

If it works for a couple weeks, my experience is it will work for a year which is the typical warranty. I really don't care about warranties past the first month. You're right though it's a risk.

    Zerokenshi and Xentar712:

The setting does not persist. So no way to tell how much correction it would have been. I am just doing by eye, comparing the display on my desktop to the laptop. But, the method is moot if the setting doesn't persist.

I think at this point I've decided not to get the UX303LN since it will not be coming in 1080p and I don't really need an ultra portable. I'm going to wait for the N551 (successor to the N550JK) with the 860M.

I haven't opened mine up but, Device Manager reports a model number that is a 2.5 inch 7 mm SATA. There are a couple of threads about how to replace a SSD. A simple overview is: Clone the existing SSD to the new SSD, remove the cover, remove the old SSD, install the new SSD. Put the cover back on, boot to the new system, resize the C: partition.

    Good luck, Jim

Hwinfo will tell you the model number of everything without having to open it up. If you get a chance, could someone also report what the screen model is?

Finally managed to put in a pre-order with Amazon Germany, I had to send it to a friend in Germany who is going to in turn ship it to me. A pain, but there doesn't appear to be any other options at the moment. I did however receive an email saying that the item had an estimated shipping date of the 10th September. So, that gives time for Asus to get their act together and announce it for the UK / USA.

Cool, that's the same drive as in the T300LA. So it is indeed an M.2 on a 2.5" converter.

The panel you have is the same ID as the Transformer Book Flip but that screen was glossy. Yours is matte, right? Edit: Oops never mind. I forgot the matte ones were the LN model only.

If that's the case, you shouldn't be having yellow problems. From this review, that screen is beautiful. http://www.ultrabookreview.com/4436-asus-transformer-book-flip-tp300-review/

I did some more testing with color calibration. If I open Google to yellow color examples, then open the color calibration tool and make adjustments and switch to Google without closing CC, I do see changes in the yellow. I can get it to look just like my desktop. But when I close the CC the color yellow reverts to the same greenish yellow.

    Any thoughts? Thanks Jim

Yeah, who knows. Only way to know for sure is if an LA owner can open theirs up and take some pictures of the connector. They are pretty easy to attach/detach. Ultrabookreview.com has pictures of the connector on the LN model but not off the mobo.

Jim, are you using Intel control panel? If not, you should be using that and not the Windows color calibrator program. Once you hit apply, it should save the colors.

Oh wow, my wifi connection really does turn to garbage when I walk some 30 ish feet (and two walls) away from the Asus-RTN16 router that I'm using.

It drops to 9 to 11Mbps. Up close to the router it's fine.

I would return it. Mine gives full ISP throughput through 4 walls. No decrease in signal strength.

Well if Amazon delivers my QHD laptop in September and Asus releases the 1080p model in October, I could use the 30-day return policy to return the QHD model without restocking fees...

Yeah, the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel does save the settings. But I am not sure what I am doing in the adjustments. I will need to do a lot of trial and error. I have been able to decrease the green tint of yellow by decreasing green brightness.
