    Hi

Can you just write wich wlan adapter you have, brand/model? If you look in device manager.

It will be easyer for me to find laptop submodel with ac wlan and confirm that on place, becouse seller dont even know what Im talking about.

I have seen before Crucial M500, but only thing why I didnt bought it before is that think it dont have sandforce chipset with same write/read speed. Adata was better alternative for me before.

I believe it is a maxwell chipset.

It does not have an mSata slot.

I just purchased the UX32LN along with Samsung EVO 750gb SSD and I'm having bit of a trouble figuring out how I can install windows to the new drive?

Has anyone yet done this and how? I have the laptop and a 32gb pen drive but if necessary I can also use a desktop.

If you mean the slot on the left side, below the fan, I also thought that this is mini mSata, but it doesn't. Maeker describes it few posts ago.

    1. Create factory recovery USB using Asus backtracker software
    2. Replace your harddrive with a SSD(format not necessary)
    3. Turn on the laptop
    4. In BIOS, turn off secure boot, fast boot and enable launch CSM(not sure if CSM is necessary)
    5. Restart and boot using usb
    6. Follow the steps to restore the thing back to factory default

It looks really good, better than expected accually!

Is there any chance that SSD 9mm should fit inside?

here's the thing, I am not too sure, BUT when I was installing the SSD, the original SSHD drive had two foam stripes taped to the bottom to increase its thickness(shock absorbing ) so a 9mm MIGHT work, but 7mm is the safe bet.
Though why would u use a 9mm though? Aren't most of the ssds nowadays in 7mm form factor?

    thanks for information guys..
I think this laptop is perfect if equipped with one msata slot.
and this machine is nice to carry around because it's very lightweight and powerful enough to run medium games.
so how about the battery life and temp ? did someone already tested under full load and normal use?
and there's no video unboxing and review in youtube until now..

Most of them are yes, you could remove the foam padding but that has warranty implications.

Care to elaborate a bit more about a fresh install? The problem is that I can't find a .iso for the windows install and the product key (OEM) doesn't work for windows 8/8.1 update installer. If I somehow get a hold of an image, will I be able to install the OS straight to the disk or will I have to partition the new disk the same way the original asus is(100 mb system, 900 mb recovery, 20gb restore and rest for OS)?

    Thanks for the answers

I would use one 9mm becouse I have it allready :) its quire new Adata sp900 120Gb, but only problem that it has 9,5mm case.

I allready has dismantled it and installed just pcb inside one Lenovo laptop. But there I could secure it with some foam stripes. Maybe I can do the same here too.

I just ordered an UX32LN (the i5 version with 500GB SSHD) and will be replacing the HDD with a 250GB Samsung EVO SSD. Managed to get it for a steal (almost 50% of the i7 model), otherwise I would've easily gone for the i7 model. From what I hear it should be about a ~10% difference between the i5 and the i7 depending on what processes you're running and I'm fine with that. Hopefully changing to the SSD will go without a hitch and I'm also considering buying another 8GB RAM to max it out but we'll see about that.

Still for what I intend to use it for I think it'll be just fine. Been looking for a 13.3" laptop for quite a while and I'm glad I found out they sneakily released the 32LN as it hasn't gotten almost any publicity that I know of.
I like the idea of a matte screen since I like to be able to take my laptop with me outside and although I like the design of the 302 more I couldn't say no to the price, and with a dedicated graphics card that's slightly better to boot.

Thank you for all the great information in this thread so far.

A fresh install would require getting an iso image but it would mean you could format it however you like (this would wipe the recovery partition potentially)

    Hi everybody,

Currently living in Italia, i'm more than willing to buy this little UX32LN. But it's been 2 days i looked on internet, and the best model as for me is the UX32LN-R4011H, who have a 500GB HardDisk (instead of a 128SSD) and cost 100e less, compared to the UX32LN-R4028H. The problem is that the first one is ONLY available in France, as i can see (for example ASUS ZenBook UX32LN-R4011H (90NB0521-M00780 ) : achat / vente PC portable sur ldlc.com). Have watched everywhere in UK and US (bestbuy, velocitymicro, emachine, shuttle, polywell, ibuypower, CDW, compusa, tigerdirect, dinopc, overclockers, newegg ... Not mentionning Amazon, play, grossbill ...), havent seen a 32LN available .. What is the problem then ? These computer are available in France, order it, and then got it delivered, uh ?
    If only...
They have AZERTY keyboard ... Yeah, it's a little thing, but really annoying !!!
Can someone save me and tell me if i can order this computer somewhere, with a QWERTY keyboard ? US or UK's QWERTY, i dont care (even if UK is better, if only US is available, i take it !)

If not, what about the Germans ones ? Even if i prefer way more 100e less and a 500GB hdd than a 128SSD. They should have a QWERTZ, right ? :(

    By advance, thanks

I ordered from a Norwegian store (komplett.no), got a Nordic keyboard layout.

Appended benchmark of the SSD that came with the laptop.

I have some minor backlight bleed at the bottom of the screen, only visible when booting. Couldn't replicate with a dark image and normal use. Screen looks very nice. Build quality of this laptop is outstanding.

Thanks a lot for your answer.
But the Nordic Keyboard aint have é and è, right ? How many did you paid for it ?

Seriously, it's not possible that we can't order a computer with a basic QWETY, isn't it ? Why arent they available in UK/US ? And plus, why the UX32LN-R4011H is only available in France ?

EDIT : Oh gosh, but on your Norwegian website, they are really costly ! The 128GB SSD model cost more than 1000euro vs less than 900 in Germany

thats Asus to you, I live in it's home country and I have been waiting for ux302 for half a yr and they deicided they don't want to release it and released ux32ln instead...
Well, if u are up for a trip to Taiwan, it cost around 1000USD here for the 500gb SSHD version with 2yr international warranty (though its not full HD) QWETY keyboard with little pinyin symbol to the top of u are up for that :p

So I bought this UX32LN at czc.cz (i5/6GB/GT840/500+8GB SSHD) a week ago and I am satisfied with it so far... it runs pretty fast with the new Windows 8, the display is great and the overall performance and handling as well. The only thing I´m little bit doubtful is the battery. I´ve installed the Battery Care and it shows the wear level of 6,32% so the fully charged battery has got just 47 mWh out of 50 mWh. Do you think it´s a standard value for every battery or is it too much and I should return it? The average battery life is around 7 hours with office work..

Well.. let me be blunt, it sucks in my opinion, not 100% sure but I am sure it's a TN panel, anti-glare.
BUT, to be honest, I have been looking to buy a laptop for half a year already, and I can tell u that ux32ln is good for its price, and u won't find another light laptop with good discrete graphics that is also cheap

It's also available in Romania, so probably in other European countries as well. i5/8GB/128 GB ssd sells for around 950 euro, i7/8gb/256GB SSD for about 1200. I was hoping to get it for a proper review, but Asus have no plan in promoting this unit, from what I've been told, so they won't have a review unit.

The temps after 30mins of 1080p gaming. Might seems quite high but you wont feel that hot at the keyboard area. Ambient temp ~30C.

its really hard to find thin and light laptop with perfect combination between power and mobility..

but first i want to see the display quality and viewing angle.

oh thanks so much for the pic.

    Hi AndreWinterman,

Could you tell me what is the layout of the jeyboard of the ASUS of yours ?
AZERTY, QWERTY or QWERTZ ? If QWERTY (in that case i would love your forever), is it US or UK ? If QWERTZ, is it Belgian/Suiss or Nordic ?

    Hi

Can anybody comfirm that this qualcomm Wlan adapter is dual band, has AC?

I was out in shops again here in Hong Kong, and when it comes to ux32-LN its always qualcomm wlan, and ux32-LA has always intel dual band wifi.

LA version is also tinner, more nice, but it has only Intel graphic :(

price in HK for ux32-LN i5, 1TB hdd, GF graphic, about 8500HKD, around 1100USD or check on google for current rates.

I already replied that my ux32ln has a Intel Dual Band ac and it uses up the msata slot where the caching SSD was, I guess since HK model uses regular HDD, it might have put the caching ssd there instead...are u sure LA is thinner? I was under the impression that they both use the same chassis, da_bre u can consider buying the Taiwanese version? It's 30000 NTD, SSHD version with Intel Dual band

    Hi

yes, thanks for your reply, but your adapter is Intel dual band AC 7xxx wireless if I remember correctly, not atheros qualcomm AR964x, or maybe I didn't understand.
Intel wireless I only can found here in HK inside submodels with Intel graphic in ux32LA but not on any sub model of LN, here it looks that they have only H4040 sub model.

Thing is that seller explaining to me that he can catch up 5Ghz wireless with this laptop in his shop and showing me the list of SSID with his 5Ghz wireless router listed indeed, but what I think is that qualcomm is only 2,4Ghz, and that his router is dual band, and off course Asus got his wireless on 2,4 band on same SSID wich is "test 5Ghz".

I can not find any info if AR964x is dual band or not.

Yes ux32LA is definitely thinner than ux32LN looks much smaller and nicer, I had them next to each other. LN has normal size HDMI on right side, and LA has mini(or micro) HDMI on right side.
Somebody here has before posted pictures on both profiles, thinner and ticker and I didn't understand which is that thinner laptop, but now I got it when I saw.

One more thing, panels in Hong Kong are 1920X1080 in LN.

God dammit Asus...it seems that we are the only ones getting a damn 1366x768 model. I know, the point I am trying to make is that as there are a trillion different variation to their model, even if someone can confirm that the ln uses a particular WiFi module( as I did), unless they are from HK, it would have made little difference as u can never be sure...

    Yes, that's true,

now I'm thinking that I'm gonna buy this laptop next week anyway and then if there is no AC card inside, I will buy one and replace the original as I will do also with HDD, put one SSD.

The reason why I'm so persistent to find one with AC is that I will buy Asus RT-AC68U also, and it will be fiber to the house in very near future.
