well, it might be, but I am already on my second unit, and the same damn thing is still happening, so unless I am the guy with the worst luck, it doesn't seem to be an isolated issue...Though anyone is welcomed to send theirs in for repair and see what happens...

I got mine today. It's just flawless. My UX32LN runs 3D Mark 13 without a glitch.
A really nice unit with a gorgeous perfect screen. I love it ! -
Questions for those who have upgraded to SSD + 4 go RAM:
1) What kind of format should I get for the SSD? Will this SSD fit to replace the SSHD? Samsung 840 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Notebook Kit?
2) What model of RAM should I get? Is this one going to be compatible: Kingston Value RAM 4GB 1600MHz PC3-12800 DDR3 Non-ECC CL11 SODIMM SR x8 Notebook Memory
Thanks. -
I'm facing the same issue and I'm common with such kind of downgrade. For now no succes.Keep on working on it today.

Hi everybody,
I'll be in Singapore next week and I'm trying to decide between two ultra books: Asus UX32LN or Acer S3-392G
Acer Aspire S3-392G-54204G52tws or the Asus Zenbook UX32LN-R4016H
I'm a student who doesn't play games. currently I'm using the Asus u36jc which I like very very much.
about the Asus:
I don't play games so i don't think i need the Nvidia graphics card but the LA version has a 1366x768 screen, so I'm wondering is it a big difference between the 768p I have on my u36 right now, and the 1080p that the ux32ln has?
The Acer:
it looks nice too but I never had a Acer so I don't know how reliable they are, I don't believe I need a touchscreen, so it's Unnecessary for me. the keyboard is super limited, no F1-12 keys (separate) ! and the global warranty is only one year from purchase.
their price is exactly the same: 1398 Singapore $. so what do you think?
another thought I have is buying the Asus Zenbook UX32LA-R3014H* which costs 1098$ and with the money saved buy a 8GB Ram and a SSD 256GB hard disk?
*as I mentioned the LA has no dedicated graphics and no 1080p screen. -

1080p screens offer more work space, better viewing angles and colours.
-
does anybody have any experience with the Acer s3-392? -
But it just nothing happening after installation.
Tell me if you have any success, I would really like to use win7 on this machine. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
8 needs a bit of tweaking to get right but i would not step back now.

What I have done to install win7 is that with another PC I created partition on SSD and I packed in win7 instalation. I made this partition active and bootable. I was able to install win7 without any problem. But I ended up with working win7 but without any driver for usb or wlan I couldn reach laptop.
I took out ssd again and put all driver instalation inside my documetnts on ssd. But the problem was that I could install only wlan drivers. No other drivers accually worked for USB3.0, bluetooth, VGA, cardreader,...so I gave up -
I finally got it in Singapore with tax refund.
Screen bleeding? yes, but I'm fine with it since it's only noticeable when I stare at the bottom of the screen. The display quality is terrific!
Battery life depends on the use. heavy daily use would have about 6 hrs. occasional daily use would last longer. I expect to get longer battery life after switching to SSD
Keyboard layout is QWERTY, and the enter key is smaller version. Typing experience is good.
Touchpad is really huge
The USB slot is a bit hacky. Plugging it hard doesn't help. Stir it to find the right angle
The only issue I got is the power adapter. It's SG version... -
I'm flying to Singapore in a few days.
Also, is it possible to upgrade the SSD over there? -
Windows 8.1 update 1 suits me.So I won't spend more time trying to install Windows 7.
WTB, I'am glad with WinReducer - News witch helps a lot to make custom W8 ISO. -

I bought it in PC Dreams. It's brand new. You may find detailed information here:
Qoo10 - Asus Zenbook UX32LN- NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M graphics 1.45kg GAMING ult... : Computer / Lapto...
It's located in the famous Sim Lim Square. There are several other Asus resellers there. But all they told me the memory configuration is 2G on board + 2G in slot. So I purchased it from PC Dreams and my model comes with 4G on board and one slot free (I'm certain of this because they opened the back cover).
Also, from the review link posted by DarkHunter Asus Zenbook UX32LN - reviews, specs and impressions, it seems SG offer models with US power adaptor and SSD (128G 840 EVO). Anyway, I am not satisfied of 840 EVO and I will purchase a 256G SSD and replace it myself since the price of SSD in SG is not so appealing compared to my country.
One thing to mention, two phase power adaptor may cause static electricity which may numb your hand while three phase power adaptor has an extra power wire connected to the beautiful square box.
One other thing to mention is, tax refund is only available for those who purchase in store. Check the FAQ I issured on the Qoo10 page -
Please check the above reply
-
I have to correct my previous statement.
The screen bleeding is only noticeable when you stare at the bottom of screen with dark image, such as the image during start -
HK are not the only ones got 13X7 resolution. TW got this too and they have been complaining...

I bought the full hd i7 version with 256gb ssd and 8gb ram, so pretty much the top model.
I bought mine in Scandinavia, and it seems like accessories differ by region.
Overall I'm quite satisfied with the notebook, although I haven't tried the gaming capabilities yet.
Ports are poorly placed however, I'd prefer if the display and audio outputs was on the left side (good for left handed people I suppose).
Ports are also not perfectly aligned as mentioned earlier, but nothing that upsets me. -
This is exactly the model i'm looking for. May i ask what is your keyboard layout ? If QWERTY, could you please redirect me to the store where you found it ?
Thanks mate
Also thanks to Cltli, however they don't deliver out of Singapore ... (and plus they have a 500GB HDD, and i'm not willing to put myself a SSD)
But thanks -
I received mine yesterday and it looked perfect at first sight, but I noticed only today an important bend in the uper aluminium case, on the left side, that makes the keyboard not perfectly flat... I'm thinking about returning it. Other than that windows 8 is hard to get use to, and the i5 feels a bit slow from the start !!! Pick the i7 version if you can...

I got an even worse one...46.1Wh out of 50Wh, meaning the wear level is 7.8%. I just bought it and did nothing to it.
I'll contact Asus and see
-----------------------------
Now the wear level exceeds 8%...
-----------------------------
I fully charged the battery and browsed for 2 hrs heavily, then my battery got 80% power (8 hrs) left.
Does this really look like my battery has already worn out 8%? -
After a system update and reboot, magic happened and my battery recovered to 96.5% (48+ Wh)... Could someone please tell me why?
Anyway, it's a huge relief to me -
That's what I get as well... 7.5% wear level...

It takes time for the battery to calibrate.
-
Maybe some capacity was allocated by system for update, just in case of sudden power-off.
-
have you updated your system? My battery recovered some capacity after update and reboot. Also the temperature cools down and fans are more quiet now
-
Yes I always keep my system up to date with the latest updates and drivers, the wear level is 7.5 % that I am sure, the only explanation I may find plausible is that as these are estimates, it will require a few charging cycles for the estimates to average out into a more believable number
With my previous MacBook, I get around 96% out of box...
Oh well, I contacted ASUS support anyway and see what they have to say about that

Hey everyone. Asus will launch a follow-up for the UX32LN later this year, called UX303LN, with updated Haswell processors, up to 12 GB of RAM, Nividia 840M graphics and 3200 x 1800 px screens.
I've got my hands on a pre-production version of the UX303LN and I've shared my early impressions in this post : Asus Zenbook UX303LN - initial impressions - waiting for your questions . A more in depth article/review will follow in a few days, but in the meantime, If you have any questions or if there's anything in particular you want to know about this laptop, shoot -
Hello everyone!
Do all UX32LN come with a mini display port to VGA as well as USB to ethernet dongle? -
Nope, mine came with power supply only.
-
1800 looks awesome! But isn't it FHD? looks the color needs further calibration
The touchpad is the most interesting part to me
Screen again, I see the mirror reflection in your review. So I suppose it's touchscreen just like ux302lg right? -
-
Still no one who found a QWERTY KB LAYOUT on a UX32LN, except in Singapor ? (who by the way doesnt delivery out of Singapor)
When these computer will f*cking be available in UK or USA ? (or even in Italy or other European countries with a QWERTY KB LAYOUT !)
1 month that i specifically wait for this ... I will finish by taking a f*cking Vaio, even if thise one is definitely my choice Number 1 ! -
Then again you, DarkhunterCZ, receive the notebook without them?
Might the scope of supply vary between markets and/or specs?
I'm from Germany and the friend of mine I am researching for is interested in the UX32LN-R4028H i5-4200U/FHD display/8GB RAM/128GB SSD -
I totally understand how you feel. I had been waiting for ux32ln since feb 2014 and finally found out that I have to buy in other countries...
I contacted several persons for delivering laptop out of Singapore. The tax refund (5.5%) will not be available and extra export tax (about 10%) will be charged if shipped with box.
Just FYI -

LouisXIV likes this. -
Yeah, I bought it in Czech Republic and its really cheap there, so it should be the reason, why I got only power supply. I got i5 with SSHD version for 840€.

Yes you will also get small price fluctuations so always good to shop around, often it can be easier to go through the reseller though in which case having them closer can be nice.

This week end, I work on a very clean install with as few drivers and back ground applications as possible. Now my UX32LN have only 50 process running at start up witch is far less than Asus install. It's still possible to have a few less without Asus OSD and by removing some startup process (got some from Adobe Reader). -
-
Hey! Can anyone tell me if it is possible to replace the ssd without loosing the waranty? Is there any seal on the hdd?
-
there is no seal I 've checked
One of the easiest swap I 've ever done

Does anyone else have problems with the fans running either alle the time even in office scenarios or starting/stopping again and again? Tools like Notebook Fan Control (NBFC) help, but id like to have a solution out of the box.
-
in Turkey this model has a higher version (UX32LN-R4060H). Full HD IPS, i7 4500u, 8 gb ram, 1tb hdd and 840m about 870 Euro-900 Euro
