    Hi.
I installed latest version of NHC to replace ASUS Power4Gear.
If start playing i can't hear the fans working which doesn't happen with Power4Gear. As result of this i get very high temperatures (over 80º) just after 15m playing. Even at that temperature (over 80º) my computer is still "silent".
I monitor temperatures often and the highest temperature i get is around 65º.
Since i only installed and didn't change advanced configuration, why does this happen with NHC? Any idea? Thanks

It might be the NHC is not configured properly for your laptop. I think there are so-called "ACPI configuration files" for it, never used NHC so I don't know details but they can be downloaded either from the NHC website or some 3rd party.

If you can't fix this issue, I suggest remove NHC ASAP or you risk overheating the notebook. Fans that never start are dangerous.

BTW are you using speedfan or something similar for fan control? NHC might possibly interfere with those and cause the fans not to turn on.

Edit: Seeing you use WinXP, I suggest as a good, safe alternative RMClock. That will almost certainly have no issues with your hardware and fans.

ACPI control is off as per default on NHC, so I doubt that's the problem. Wouldn't hurt to check, tho..

I knew about ACPI, but i thought by default all programs should work fine after installation; changing configuration or adding ACPI should only improve, not made it work :)
Been goggling and notice some people have the same issue, fans won't work...
I will test it tonight with F3JP ACPI.
By the time i tested , NHC was the only program of it's kind installed.

About RMClock i have a strange issue.
If i start the program, and without changing anything (except choosing profile), it changes my brightness settings in a way that i will always get maximum brightness after i start windows or resume for suspension, no matter which profile i'm using.
It's not fun to reduce brightness everyday, several times a day.
Still i decided to run it yesterday (i had only tested on previews windows) and guess what happened? :)
    Brightness at max every time....
    Solution?

With ASUS Power4Gear the temperature is always "great", but while playing, the fans do make a lot of noise (nonstop), and i've read that's not good.
What can i do to reduce the noise?

    Thanks

Well, like I have said before, it is far better to have the fan running too much than not at all. It is normal (it is required) for the fan to spin fast and make noise when playing because it has to cool both the CPU and GPU. The place where you read this was not good, is wrong is stating so.

So, please, do get rid of any software that is interfering with the fans working properly. You risk damaging your notebook otherwise.

In most newer notebooks, which due to high-perf CPUs heat up more than older computers, the fan will run most of the time. This is normal. With power4gear only, the fan is working normally, and properly. It's kicking in at the temperatures it's told to kick in by the BIOS. If you are not experienced with this sort of stuff, I would suggest not to mess around and try changing this behavior; the temperature thresholds are put in the BIOS by ASUS engineers, and there are good reasons behind their values.

But furthermore, as i've said, it's normal and required for the fan to spin fast during gaming.

I hope I've been clear enough.
