Recently went through the process of installing W7 on an x55c-si30202m that originally came with windows, BUT
NOW when windows is booting or shutting down, there is an ASUS background image that i cant get rid of, looked in BIOS, nothing regarding full screen splash screen.

if i right click/personalize under "installed themes, there is an ASUS theme there with that background image, but i cant uninstall or delete it.

Not sure how to get rid of that black asus screen at boot and shutdown

I seem to have resolved it somehow, i went into the asus theme, changed the background image to the windows image, shut it down( ASUS logo screen still present), restarted,( asus theme remained) changed it back to an aero theme, and did some no critical updates that were left , required a reboot which during the asus screen disappeared.

..if you want to change it to something else, or custom-make one later on, google "OEMBackground". The resource windows allows OEMs to use there can be hijacked, basically.
