I sent my Z71V battery in for warranty replacement and when it returned I also received a free ASUS gift. Its a small blue plastic tube that has a slider on it, and when you push the slider a soft brush comes out.

I really have no idea what specifically this is for. Is it to clean your LCD monitor?

No, actually I don't believe it is. I've seen them before and they are more for removing dust and stuff from hard to reach places.... like the keyboard, touchpad, lcd bezel and things like that.

Hi quick question: Just got a W3V, had it for a week now and I've noticed that hair and dust easily sticks to it and if you try and take it off with a cloth it just gathers together and looks worse, I've tried those cleaning wipes and they don't do alot to help.
    Any ideas?

    For the screen?

    Or the Chasis in General?

A microfibre clothe with some water(not alot) will easily wipe it off.

Cool where do you get all these free gift things?
Can't wait till my Asus breaks and I get a free T-Shirt with it! lol

I meant the screen, the chasis does get dirty but who cares, it's the screen that can make a real difference.

By the way my new avatar is a pic of my Asus W3V on the notebookreview forum! Go notebookreview.com!!

    I want a brush too :(

I eat and smoke while using my laptop, but am very cautious when using it while I am doing so.

If I'm eating I keep the food far away and never use the keyboard if I use my fingers to eat with.

Smoke does fudge up the insides of your computer/laptop, but that's only if it's constantly being blown into the vents, but that's not so with my laptop.

I even used to blow smoke into my desktop to check the airflow and direction of the air so I could set my fan speeds :D

I really do want a brush though... :(

Coriolis *cough cough*, you say you have two do you...hmmm???

    Wanna send me one? :D

    cheers,
    Mike

I clean my W3A using a damp cloth with a hint of liquid detergent. This shifts both dust and fingerprints and seems to be the best way to restore the screen to pristine condition. One advantage of the glossy screen is that it is easier to clean than the matte finishes.
