Starting September 10th 2007, ASUS will be giving away a free 1 year Accidental Warranty for all their notebooks, in addition to their ASUS 360 with 20224 protection.
It may be North American only, as I don't see the ad for it on the worldwide site, only the Canada and North American site. As well, their '360' protection warranty may be North America only.

Will this apply to laptops that were bought in June this year??
-
Damn, on or after September 10.
-
-
That's a pretty amazing bonus. I'm pretty sure it'll just be NA though, at least for a while. Getting insurers for the accidental damage cover will be different in each country.
-
Luckies
Cool beans, but a month too late for mex100
-
This is awesome. I can't wait until the V1s-B1's are available
Time for me to finally get a good laptop.
-
Wonder if it will be international accidental coverage like their standard 2 year warranty, Or NA only like their 3 year NA only warranty. Wish they had offered this a month ago.

Too bad they don't love their V6j customers.
-
... WOW...
That's a pretty darn valuable incentive.

I hope it gets resolved, cause it really is unacceptable.
-
Frack!
I purchased my G1S last Friday! -

Meh. They've already lost my business this time around. They may get it back in a few years if they have decent battery life.
-
How can they know if we are doing it on purpose? If it can't fix? give you a new one? LOL
-
Does that imply barebones (ie. C90S) ???
I just hope I'm in. I ordered yesterday but credit card was processed today. -
Any idea on how would this affect preorders for the V1S-B1 that took place within the past week?

dammit i ordered mine Thursday but didn't receive it till yesterday
-
I just ordered mine yesterday! On the 10th! I wonder if it will count though because I had originally ordered an IFL90 and called the reseller to change my order to a V1s and had them charge my credit card the difference. Think that qualifies?
-
They probably updated the sales invoice to show the new purchase, so I'm pretty sure it'll be fine.
-
lol i ordered three asus notebooks during the past two months... oh well im not in the us anyways
-
It'll be fun dropping the laptop during the second or last month before the warranty expires. Get some old part replaced
-
-
Just a friendly reminder for people to sign up
Temporarily stickied and will be added to the Info booth. -
Damn I bought it on the 8th but I haven't received it yet. DOes that count???? ARGH!!!
-
That pretty much sucks i just got my V1je like in aug

The ASUS 360 Notebook Service Program and Accidental Damage Warranty covers “ASUS” brand notebooks only, and does NOT extend to:
“Built on ASUS,” “ASMobile,” “Powered by ASUS,” the Eee PC, or some other models.
These retailers are currently among the companies that do NOT participate in the ASUS 360 Notebook Service Program and Accidental Damage Warranty:
Best Buy, Micro Center, J&R, Best Buy in Canada, and The Source by Circuit City in Canada
http://adw.asus.com/content/adp/default.aspx
i guess the people who buy it from Best Buy or The Source are screwed over in Canada
damn i was thinking of buying the eee pc too -
If you get a laptop replaced do you still have the remaining part of a year left, or is it a one time replacement in the span of the year?
-
-
I definitely bought mine 5 months too soon X^|
-
Just don't drop your laptop. If this popped up a year ago when I dropped my laptop and had to replace the screen, I would flip out. But I do feel sorry for the Nestle crunch screen for the poster above.
The irony of the chocolate name makes it feel like God has a pretty good sense of humor. She must have winged that thing. Its always the screen that breaks those, they should make these things more durable.
I am probably getting a new asus soon so this is just extra incentive to buy. Go ASUS. -
Remember to go to that website and register your laptop w/o doing that you don't get the warranty!!
-
this is good for me i'm getting mine in month
-
Has anyone successfully registered their laptop for this?
I first registered my laptop on the asus site, then after that i tried registering for the accidental damage warranty. It told me i have to mail a printout of the confirmation email for product registration, but i didnt receive anything like that.
kinda sucks because the laptop i bought last night already died this morning -
start drinking and eating with your asus right away as well as placing it half way off the ledge of the computer desk!
-
i registered my lappy, but i havent received the confirmation email yet? wth? anybody also having issues with the asus website?
-
figures...................
-
Good idea from asus to attract more clients but like in others fields, Europe is screwed up again.
You pay in America your G1S around 1700 US $ and we pay 2050 US $ and we have only 2 years warranty.
Europe sucks. -
I guess I answered my own question... -
-
Although I was at MicroCenter today, and they now have a few Asus laptops out on display (they had an Asus G2S, and F3Sv , and they also had an F9S but not on display yet), but the prices are actually higher than what you can get the same models for from places like ExcaliberPC...

Anyone else not getting the confirmation email when u guys registered? Do i need to call?
-

-
I just registered and received the confirmation email. If you're using a free email account, make sure the spam filter didn't pick up your confirmation email and redirect it.
-
