I have an ASUS A53S/K53SV that blacks out after logging in. It takes a bit of time for it to load into the desktop page after logging in, and a black dialogue page appears for 3-4 seconds before it closes by itself. After I log in, the screen goes black for a few minutes.

I have tried cleaning up the laptop and defragmenting it. I have kept it up-to-date. I have tried shutting down some of the programs that start up with the computer though I mostly shut down Apple software.

It may be time for a fresh install.

What do you mean by fresh install? Is that where I basically wipe my whole computer and reinstall everything?
