Hello everyone,
I own a ASUS AJ6c laptop since June 2006 and it'd been great until my headphone jack stopped working.
So I decided to send it off 2 month ago to ASUS technical support while I still have the 2 year warranty.
I got my laptop back within 1 week which I thought was very impressive.
They replaced the mainboard to fix the problem.
Here's where my problem started.
My headphone jack worked fine but I started to get bluescreens which I've never experienced with my ASUS laptop before.
I got to a point where I couldn't work for longer than 30 min because it crashed.
It even crashed when I tried to do a clean install and after trying 7 times...I gave up and contacted ASUS and they took my laptop away.
I called after 2 weeks and was told that I'll get it back in few days time.
It didn't come.....I called on my 3rd week and was told to wait for few more days.
I called again on my 4th week and was told that they replaced the mainboard twice but it failed and was going to try it for the third time. If it doesn't work again, they'll have to send it to their head office to solve the problem (ie, deciding whether to replace my laptop or not) which can take about a month.
Luckily, I got it back yesterday...after a month.
In the end they replaced the mainboard and hard drive.
Anyway, here's my question, sorry for the long wait.
My warranty will run out in 3 months time....do you think it's okay and reasonable to ask for some extension in my warranty as the repair took a month rather then one week which is what they normally aim to achieve?
I am not sure whether it's something I can ask for or not.
Thanks a lot in advance.
