Hey, I've got a ASUS Notebook M50Vc/M50Vm Series with an intel core 2 Duo CPU T9400 @ 2.53GHz, 4.00GB Ram. 32-bit Windows Vista Home Premium.

I got it a few years ago, and have pretty much had no issues with it until recently.

Suddenly a few programs that came with the computer have stopped working.
1: My finger scanner: I have always used this to log into my computer, it has my fingerprint registered and everything. Suddenly about 2 weeks ago I went to log in and I got a message saying no finger prints had been registered. When I logged on after entering my code, I couldnt find the program to set my fingerprints.

2: Speakers/Sounds: Just as suddenly as my other problems, my speakers have stopped working. I've plugged in headphones and those seem to work properly. So that should mean there is nothing wrong with my audio card, just something wrong with my speakers...

3: I have a webcam attached to my monitor. I've used it to take pictures in the past. Suddenly I can't seem to find the program to utilize it. The closest I get is the program called "Life Frame", I seem to remeber using that program in the past, but when I try to use it now it gives me the message that the camera is used by another program. I've done various searches and can't seem to find what other program might control the camera.

These are the 3 main issues right now. I'm not sure if any might be related to each other. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix any of these issues please let me know.

I would suggest reinstalling Windows from scratch. After those few years it will be worth it :) having accumulated a lot of junk in the program files / registry / running processes etc.

You could of course also try to get each individual issue sorted out on its own...

Out of those three problems the only thing that could really be a hardware problem is the speakers issue.
