Has anyone successfully added a second and third antenna to their ul30vt behind the LCD? I am contemplating this, but since I still have one more year on my warranty I am unsure if I want to do this or not. (on the second year that was extended due to registration <3 ASUS)

The laptop has been great, but I want to achieve more than 65Mbps on wireless N, which is all i am able to get so far with a single antenna and an intel 6300 card.

Before you guys go on about adding an antenna under the speakers, I already have a pair of internal antennas that are meant to go behind the LCD so I really would not want to have to go and buy 2 more.

As usual thanks for the responses in advance.

I added 2 antennas on my UL30VT. Just make sure you don't tamper with the warranty sticker and be careful not to scratch or dent any internal components. The warranty can be voided if there are signs of tampering of the internals.

I installed a Intel 6300 + 2 extra antennas on ul30A-X5 some time ago, in case it helps, check Where should i place extra wifi antennas?, just a suggestion, when re assembling make sure the cable/belts are going in well, as i had to do break it apart twice just to get all doing good contact, but been perfect ever since (i did get scared for couple of hours when it didn't turn on).

Hi David, I looked at your disassembly instructions and I don't see how you can add the antennas without breaking the warranty seal behind the keyboard. Any tips on this?

Thanks for the tip Abula, I'll keep that in mind when I go to add in the antennas which will probably be tomorrow :)

You'll have to do it very carefully (and slowly) with a small flat-head screwdriver. A little heat from a blow dryer will help loosen the stickiness of the adhesive. Once you've removed the warranty sticker, make sure you put it on wax paper or a similar surface so you can apply it back on later.

Thanks for the tip David. Managed to put in the two antennas with the sticker fairly unscathed. Now I just need to get my router up and running.....
