You should have a recovery partition. I don't know if you can access it so that you can just pull the software though. I would say check Asus's site under downloads to see if you can get it there. If you can't, I would say do a factory restore.

Well, Adobe Premiere is what I use at work, but it's *more* about training and skill than the tools used.

Oh. Well, to be honest, all players have about the same output quality.

If you have an nvidia graphics card you can enable video enhancements straight through the card. Asus' video magic is supposed to be a universal application for this kind of thing but it's better to just run it through the graphics card software, since nvidia lets you do that.

Open the nvidia Control Panel (right click on your desktop)
Open up a video and start playing it. As you do the enhancements below use the video as a preview.
Go to "Adjust Video Color Settings" on the side. Select "With the NVIDIA settings" and start playing with things from there.
The best enhancements for me were in the Advanced tab. Setting the Dynamic Range to Full (0-255) really made videos look great. Color enhancement is sometimes a bit much but see how you like everything.

There's another video image setting for edge enhancement and noise reduction. I don't use it much but this and the above pretty much covers everything the Asus video magic thing would do, and more.

    Hope this helps.

When you turn on an ASUS laptop, press F9 and you will be able to return the laptop to factory settings (including all ASUS " bloatware").
