    Please help!
Love the speed, convenience and portability of my Zenbook. I love ASUS products! Mine is a 2013 - no touchscreen.

But why the heck does the screen turn blank on me so randomly?? I'm a College Professor and really rely upon this computer. And its been nice to show it off to all the mac users on Faculty. Now its becoming embarrassing to use in meetings.

The issue is I'll be working on something and then the screen randomly turns off - black. If I press any keys or the power button I get no response. If I close the screen shut or within about an inch of being shut and then press the power button, the power button lights up and the start screen re-appears. I type in my password and I'm back where I was working. Sometimes I can be working for hours before it happens. Other times it happens every 5 minutes. Very annoying ! When the screen is open only a little like say 45 degrees then it seems to stay on but I can't work with it at that angle obviously. I've tried a total re-install already and I thought it was good to go but then the issue started up again. Is my hinge messed up? I've never dropped it. Its in perfect condition. Is this a common issue or am I on an island alone here.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

When the screen goes dark, is the laptop going to sleep or hibernation (i.e, do all the lights turn off and fan stops spinning)?
