All in all I think it's a very well rounded ultra book for its size, weight and price. But there is a display problem that I don't think I can deal with.
I just picked mine up a few days ago and noticed right away that there is color distortion. The yellow is a bit off... Sort of like a mustard yellow. And because the yellow is off, any shade of yellow is off too.
As well as it has a whooping 3200 x 1800 screen resolution so text is all blurry. I've always had bigger screen laptops so I'm not quite sure how to fix this so the text reads well. I've tried the windows screen calibration but there are some things that it won't fix. For example, the iTunes text is blurry. It looks like someone zoomed in too much resulting in the text being slightly pixelated.
And No matter what settings I use, the yellow just won't show up right. I've read around and it said that the 13inch laptops have color distortion but no one seems to know if it can be fixed with a firmware update or it's a hardware problem.
I still have 7 days on the product and if the problem can't seem to be fixed... Sadly I might have to return it.
I really love the size and specs of the laptop and is desperate for a solution if anyone has one.
UPDATE: spoke with a CSR at ASUS and they said the color distortion might be a problem on just my one notebook alone and that all other notebooks shipped out should be in working order. I was advised to take it back to the store for a replacement and if the problem persists, I should ship it back to the manufacturer for repairs.

It's permanent. Even BIOS updates will not completely fix it. Lenovo partly fixed it for the Yoga 2 Pro but at the expense of battery life. Like Jim said, if you can't live with it then return it.

Has anyone found a solution to the above screen calibration issue?
Also, I noticed users have had battery issues. Was it just a faulty battery? -
Hi there,
I just bought UX303LN 2 weeks ago.
I have exactly the same problem.
1/ yellow looks like mustard
2/scale of text & icons depends on app that you use
Regarding battery, I red somewhere (i don't remember) that you need to delete Asus battery management to improve battery life.
I called Asus support. They gave me an EEPROM update., that I downloaded.
As a result, all app that are not W8 are out of scale (text & icon)
Regarding yellow, no anwer from Asus
I don't know if this helps, but I keep on watching.
Best regards

The calibration issue is something that will need ironed out by either a calibration tool or through software (the latter being less ideal and less likely to really "fix" the color). Otherwise, the screen is what it is.
About the battery: it's unlikely directly related to the screen, and it has been reported elsewhere that removing said Asus software helps. Give it a try. -
I had and let me say still have the problem with colors on this ultrabook’s display, specially with yellow color. I sent an email to the costumer support desk and explained the problem, their answer was to uninstall the software”Asus splendid video enhancement technology”. I did it and it helped a lot and the yellow color has changed to more similar to real yellow. the yellow is not the real yellow yet however. I am going to send them another email, I’ll let you know if there is a progress.
