So their best-looking notebook ( https://www.asus.com/us/Commercial-Laptops/ASUS-ZenBook-3-UX390UA/)—the best-looking notebook in the industry—only comes in 12.5" and their flagship notebook has fake speakers painted on the keyboard. Interesting move.

I don't think those are trying to be speakers... In person the UX501 doesn't really look like it. What kind of speaker would be underneath keys like that anyway?
-
At first glance, they look like speakers—real holes mixed with fake holes. The thought of owning that book and having just one person ask me if they're speakers, knowing what I paid for it, makes me cringe. Whatever the idea behind that design was, they're hideous. Nobody buys a Mercedes hoping it comes with decals.

What do you mean real holes?
-
Holes where sound can come through.
-
Yeah there aren't any on top iirc where those fake holes are.
-
They're all fake holes, that's the point.
-
I was thrown off by what you meant by real holes mixed with fake, but ah.
ASUS, do the right thing, make a 15" ZenBook 3... in blue
