Basically a GTS 360m? Guessing that's the G73's 15 inch counterpart?
-
moral hazard Notebook Nobel Laureate
N11E-GS = 360M?
I would say it doesn't deserve to have a lambo badge.
They should have put in something like 480m sli, then you can call it a lambo.
With the 360m, it's more like a nissan. -
360m doesn't have DX11 support, sounds like a totally Fermi card from Nvidia.
I apologize for not being able to post larger pics of the VX7 the link to the original article has ones that you can enlarge. It's definitely a very attractive computer taking the G73's styling to a new level.
Eh after looking at notebook check I noticed n11e-gs1 is the codename for the gts 360, DX11 might just be a typo.
-
No, the Lambos are a series of it's own. The 15" version of the G73 is the G53 (announced just now).
I honestly didn't expect much from the Lambos. The previous generation Lambos were also a appointment as it used the same G50 chassis but with a weaker GPU.
-
was the vx7 supposed to be that new one for 15" g73? Oh man.... weak gpu. Thats no lambo.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
No, the VX6 is part of a separate line of laptops. There's supposed to be a sucessor to the G51, G53 (or so I hear; I still can't fathom why they skipped over the nomenclature of G52).
-
I doubt the buyers of these flashy overpriced notebooks(starting at about 2.5k) care much about gaming. I think they mainly marketed toward professionals who want a workstation notebook with a little something extra.
-
The Lambo VX series are not exactly workstations. They lack significant features of a workstation such as Quadro GPUs, business-class quality build, matte LCD panels, etc. I would say the VX is targeted more towards the rich whom enjoys some of the more materialistic aspects of life.

Like that Bang & Olufsen laptop.
-
We'll see if the NX90 lives up to the B&O standard. I'm actually quite intrigued by their dual touchpad interface and am equally curious to see how the sound quality holds up on the unit. I've always had great experiences with B&O, so my expectation are already quite high on the NX90. I have a feeling I would either love it or hate it
-
Some thoughts on the VX7, i've been waiting to purchase a G73 which is out of stock everywhere but i might hold out for this.
Good Points
High-End CPU - Core i7 ( 940xm hopefully)
16GB RAM Support
G73 Class Design and Cooling
Bang & Olufsen ICE Power Sound System ( it may not live up to some people's expectations but you can be sure they will sound better than standard notebook sound)
USB 3.0 - ( VX6 has 2 USB 3.0 ports, it stands to reason it's big brother would have them too)
WirelessHD - Unconfirmed but possible
Nvidia Enthusiast Graphics - Vague but sounds promising.
Touchpad - reasonable size, multitouch, side scroll, left+right click buttons. Single button is a design dead-end + failure IMO.
Chiclet Keyboard - I consider it a plus, some may not.
Blu-ray Drive - BD-RW would be nice.
Bad Points
15.6 doesnt exactly fit the term "desktop replacement". 17.3 needed.
The taillights on the back are gaudy and OTT, it's a laptop not a car LOL.
Glossy surface = Fingerprint magnet.
No E-SATA or Firewire.Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
With the LAMBO line you are just buying the name, these laptops don't perform for what they cost.In general they are uasually under powered but still cost big,big bucks.
These laptops are not worthy of the name. -
Vx7 expected to have gtx 460 or gtx 470m. From the pics it really looks like a similar design to G73&G53. Looks good, hope its material will be better than G73.
-
Here comes another alternative to N53JN.
So this time, it's GeForce 400 series/ATI5800 series? I wonder if the weight is still around 2.6kg -
I've read almost every article and nowhere has it been mentioned it might have a 460M GTX.
Don't get me wrong it would be great but going from past Vx laptops they look amazingly great but are very underpowered. -
You are probably right then. I've read it here (It's in Turkish):
Asus, Lamborghini Murciélago'yu dizüstüne getiriyor: ?lk detaylar?yla Asus VX7
Probably they are wrong. It doesn't make sense to have two different models on the same segment. We already know G53 will be out soon

Here, i used Google to translate the page into english. The URL was a ridiculous length so i used a URL Shortening service.

I figured i would be paying extra for the namesake but this machine would be almost perfect for my needs providing that i see an official spec sheet. Originally i was going to go for a custom-build i.e Eurocomm but the cost was shocking to say the least. Then i spotted the G73JH deciding it would be adequate, one of the main being it's awesome cooling but it's a machine targeted for gamers, which i'm not. I do however need a laptop of this spec for running resource-intensive tasks such as audio & video editing/encoding, 1080p playback, virtualization etc etc. Sometimes i work in a poorly ventilated area so having a laptop with excellent cooling is a must.
When not working, multimedia is important to me. VX7 comes with excellent speakers and Full HD playback capability. Once it's released and after it's been reviewed by several tech sites as excellent, then i would pay the extra bit for the features, quality, style and yeah even the name. -
Probably going to be called a GTS 450M based on the codename.
-
What's wrong with the material in G73? I thought it was supposed to be top notch?
-
Sorry, I should have told you what it says about the graphics.
They only state that the Nvidia Graphics will be used but the model hasnt been announced yet. However it says that they got an information that Vx7 will be coming with gtx 460 or gtx 470. -
Well I am using one and some keys partly come off while typing (happed like a few times but i didnt like the issue), I hear a click sound from the part which is right side of the keyboard while carrying it from the right side (it comes from the material, its sounds like its just not in its right position, visually it seems alright, not a big problem of course). On the owners topic I've heard that the rubber used also partly peels after some usage. And I really dont like the 1 button touchpad, its hard to press it.
-
That's not good at all. Why can't they make computers that actually has the quality the manufacturers want us to belive? Or do I have to buy a Macbook Pro?
-
I found this page today regarding the GPU that will be available with the VX7.
Computex 2010: The first mention about GeForce GTX 460M (1,5 GB)? » IT - Chuiko | Technology News, IT News -
Nice find if it does come with a GTX 460/470 it will be interesting to see what it's priced at.
-
If you compare it to code names from previous generations the N11E- GS is almost certainly the GTX460M
9800M GS/NB9E-GS1 < 9800M GTS/NB9E-GT < 9800M GT/NB9E-GT2 < 9800M GTX/NB9E-GTX
GTS 260M/N10E-GS < GTX 260M/N10E-GT < GTX 280M/N10E-GTX
Even for many of the lower model cards the code names followed the same pattern with the -GTX being the top followed by a -GT as the next lower model and then a -GS as the next model under that.
GTX 480M has the code name N11E-GTX which means the next model number down from it, the GTX 470M, should be code named N11E-GT, leaving the N11E-GS in the VX7 as a GTX 460M. -
Nice work Phinagle!
So on your best guess what would the GF106-ES reported in the G53 be? -
All left for me is hoping it's not too heavy.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
I'm more worried about price than weight. If the VX7 follows the trends of the older Lamborghinis it's going to be very pricey. I don't want to spend $2000+ on a gaming 15-incher with top-notch specs.
Which is why I hope that the G53 is getting some better graphical firepower. -
I can't find anything on the GF106-ES, it sucks being in the dark on one of the most important pieces of hardware on the G53.
Hopefully soon we see exactly what were getting.
And it definitely won't be cheap if I remember correctly the old VX5 that this replaces went for $2500/$3000, and closer to the later price. -
"Car" notebooks never interested me. There was Acer Ferrari and Acer BMW (Gemstone) and ASUS Lamborgini, they are good for those who want to show off, but you're far better off getting a more mainstream notebook IMO.
-
It's only 6 more days until E3.
-
You think they will release more info?
-
Nvidia will be there and, at the least, someone is bound to get a screenshot of something we can speculate on.
-
SoundOf1HandClapping Was once a Forge
You mean photo, right?
We spend too much time in front of computer monitors. -
but another thing you shuold note that lamborghini series didnt had good gpus in the past
-
Having good GPUs isn't exactly the prime marketing point of the Lambo series. I would probably use the terms "flashiness" and "luxury" to describe them instead. Performance has never been state of the art, but it's no slouch either. Given that, the Lambo series usually uses existing chassis from other Asus laptop lines and add more refined features to make them appear more luxurious and eye-catching. For example, the VX5 is basically a G50/G51 with leather trim, different screen cover, leather carrying cases, etc.
-
Hey ASUS
Why not produce something with OUTSTANDING hardware
like a wide gamut screen or something ?
We know where to buy our Lamborghini or BMW stickers / decals.
We can't make our own notebook ! !
We need you for that -
ASUS Lamborghini VX6 and VX7
Which graphich card will the Vx7 have ?
& will it have a better screen than than the Asus G53JW ?
Thanks -
looks nice and stylish.. until the thing's surface start to gather dusk and finger prints all over it. Glossy surfaces sucks, why can't notebook manufacturers learn a thing or two.
