You tried to flash the BIOS from within a Beta software OS?

Try some of the options detailed in EBE's " Notebook Doesn't Post" thread; see also the second post in his BIOS guide. Problems that occur during a BIOS flash are serious, and often times will require sending it back to Asus' tech support to have it reset, or sometimes worse (i.e. motherboard replacement). But, you may get lucky and something might work.

If you're still under warranty, you might just consider calling Asus for RMA.

Ye 9 out of 10 times a notebook with no post is generally a lost cause (not including dead on arival). Rarely reseating the ram helps. good luck

Beta software (such as Win 7) is for testing purposes only!!! "Beta" means that the software hasn't been tested 100% and it is supposed to contain several hundreds of bugs if not thousands. Got the point?

You should not try any hardware modifications with a beta software.

Now it is time for you to send your laptop to ASUS' Portugal office.

I was stuck on the phone with customers, I am uploading the ISO now however, no sound when you hit the power button is not a good sign.

    Edit:

I think we need a sticky or something to smack people in the head: "Don't flash in an unstable environment :p "

    Yup, this thread here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=348865

But at least mattj19 can still hear the post sound and still boots normally except he can't see anything on the screen, so his BIOS is not totally corrupted, it's just BIOS is looking for ATI X1600 which he does not have, blind flash the BIOS to the correct model fixed his problem.

But etiko's laptop seem acting differently after BIOS flash in Windows 7, he doesn't even hear anything and not even sure if the laptop still boots normally.

was the BIOS flash successful in Windows 7?
One more thing you can try is remove the battery and AC adapter, insert a paper clip into the pinhole at the bottom of the notebook to reset the BIOS.

If it's acting different now after reset the BIOS then you can try flash the BIOS again.
