    Hey guys,

Ive just become the proud owner of an Asus M6R. I was going over the specs again and it mentions the chipset being ATI RS300MB + IXP150.

Could anyone provide me with some more information about this chipset? I have been looking around and doing google searches however all links that come up are not reviews but rather stores.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

It's quite a common chipset with notebooks that have the 9100IGP; what do you want to know in particular?

    ASUS M6800Ne, P-M 715 (Dothan 1.5), 512MB Ram, Toshiba Combo drive, Samsung Spinpoint M 40G HDD with 8M cache, Mobility Radeon 9700

    Thanks for the reply Aurora.

I want to know how it compares with Intel based chipsets. Performance wise.

The gpu on the ati is much better than the intel extreme graphics2 on the i855 chipset, the i91000 is a DX9 card for one. But I think that it is about the same as the newer intel 900 gpu, that comes with the i915 chipset.
So it will be fine for a bit of light gaming but dont expect to run HL2 at max settings.
Enjoy your new laptop, and feel free to post a review/ thoughts on the machine.
    Thanks
