I Just vote. I had GSOD with 10.5 removing totally 9.12 (with driver sweeper) and installing 10.5. Never tried with overwriting. I'm on BIOS 206.

    9 said yes o_O I won't be upgrading then.

edit - Probably safe just to keep the asus as it is imo and remove what you don't want.

    Better follow-up question:

Were you getting GSOD's before 10.5? Bet money every single Yes would agin be a Yes.

Try a fresh install of the driver without CCC. You might be surprised at how many problems that causes.

Oh thank you for advice. I wouldnt guess that CCC could cause any problems. I found some new official asus drivers so after I will finish some work i will try that new ones.

Now running V8.683.0.0 and looking foward to V8.692.1.0 .
Its shame that 10.5 doeasnt work for me because I clearly saw that many games run smoother with them.

No the stock drivers are fine. I managed to figure out how to get 10.5 stable. You can find out more on that here.

It sounds like you didn't properly uninstall the previous drivers before downgrading the version.

well i uninstalled the 10.1s (did not run Driver sweeper). Installed the 10.4, and the funniest thing happened. The installation completed. I checked the log and everything seems to have installed properly. But when I restarted windows, it reverted back to the generic VGA...although the drivers were installed. So I tried re-installing them, and still no dice.

In conclusion, I finally gave up, uninstalled the 10.4s, safe mode and driver sweeper, and successfully reverted back to the 9.12 stock. Im wondering if I should try out the 10.5....since clearly, I did something wrong with the 10.4s...it didnt even get recognized in Win7.
