My experience with Omega drivers has been that they can outperform the Catalyst drivers but aren't very stable, and can cause problems with hardware on occasion. I usually just stick with the Catalyst drivers, ATi has been getting alittle better as time progresses with their software releases.

Anyone else in here having issues with freeze-ups with ATI's 6.8 and Counterstrike? A friend of mine and myself both had 6.8 installed and got locked up many times, yet my other friends w/ ATI cards and older drivers were fine...

IMHO newest Catalyst's (6.8) are better than Omega 6.7 but I guess we have to wait for next Omega edition to see new king. No problems in my case.

As of now, I'm only playing "light weight" games, so I have no plans on using Omegas. Maybe when I get some more gpu demanding games I'll give Omega a try, but Catalyst 6.8 is working fine for me. And to MadDog31: No problems with Counter-Strike here (both 1.5 and 1.6...don't have CZ though).
