well ill go with NVIDIA, although ATI might be powerful, but its drivers update are so slow, nvidia is power too and their updates are fast like which makes it even more powerful.

    that's the final general score - fps - in (( Games )) .... nVIDIA wins ..... but

    what's about price / performance ratio ???
    what's about power / cooling / heat ??

Another excellant post from and notice from rulebreaker .... he is the man  that also true .... but i have heard that the high - end 8800 ultra is eating huge power / performance

nvidia comes out with game specific drivers the week games come out and ati comes out with them months later.

This is just a built in added performance.

To be honest though ive been a computer geek since the day and ive never had an ati card.
Just dont want to give that up. Theyd have to have a large hardware advantage and at this point they also have a large hardware disadvantage.

nvidia have the most powerful GPU in laptops. Nvidia are also more powerful in PC but ATI are much better for perforance per dollar.

    ATI.

I've been going back and fourth for years between 3DFX, TNT's, Radeon, Geforce, Radeon. I was basically really impressed by my x1950gt's performance and the 8600 equivalent of my laptop was $150 more and offered the same performance so I went the ATI route and it's good!

I want a well-rounded card and thus I picked ATI. I want the best of both worlds: Multimedia and Light Gaming. ATI seems to have produced sharper picture quality. ATI has VC-1 HD encoding hardware where as the NVIDIA uses software encoder. Even with Purevideo, NVIDIA is not as good as ATI when come to multimedia. I bought Asus Laptop because of Build quality and HDMI output for multimedia

I think this battle of GPU's are kinda fixed they both have strong points, right now NIVIDIA has a advantage with mobile GPUS with there raw power. But i am sure ATI wont take that lighlty.

I personaly would got with an ATI card in a laptop it uses less power and when underclocked it uses 1/4 less power compared to AC

I have ATI on my laptop now and it works great. Only problem is that its a pain in the ass to get working with freebsd. So thats another thing to consider, if you want to run linux/bsd Nvidia has much better drivers.
