Is there any way to change the functions of the ATK hotkeys? I use the power options one, but the other three I don't use, and could definitely find much better uses for.

The internet one, I'd at the very least like to switch Internet Explorer with my personal default web browser: Mozilla Firefox.

The other two (mail and Synaptics on/off), if they can be changed, I'd like to, but if not, then so be it.

    Any clue here?

Have a look at Notebook Hardware Controller (NHC).
    Here is the link: http://www.pbus-167.com/
I am not sure but may be this provides you the possibility to change the hotkeys.
I used it long time ago, and if I remember correctly there could be a way to reprogram the hardware keys.
You ask there at the forum: http://www.p35-forum.de/board/index.php
