Hello,
I'm currently considering a purchase of the Asus F9S. I've been looking at this website called Excaliberpc, which is one of the few websites that are selling the product right now. I've been trying to gather some information on the product through both AsusTek website and Google, but haven't been able to find much at all.
On Excaliberpc, the product name is written as "Asus F9S B1" (I'm including the url of the product page below).
http://www.excaliberpc.com/Asus_F9S.../90NETA4231283CQL750Y/partinfo-id-580883.html
I was a little bit confused because the picture of the product that is posted on the website is somewhat different from other pictures of the same product I've seen on other websites. Especially the keyboard and the shape of the enter key are completely different, so I was wondering if I was looking at two different product or there is something wrong with either picture (below is the other pictures of the product I found on other websites).
I'd be most appreciative if you could give me your opinion on the difference. Also, I've been wondering about the memory expansion of the product. It says "two sockets for expansion up to 2GB." Does that mean you can expand RAM up to 4 GB (2 x 2) or just 2 GB (1 x 1)? I know this is a bit stupid question, but I was just wondering because I've seen the same product released in Korea just a couple of weeks ago has memory expansion up to 4 GB.
I realize this is not entirely about what laptop I should buy, but I thought this is still relevant since I am considering buying the laptop. I appreciate your help and time on this issue.

Physically, memory is expandable to 4gb. But in reality, 32bit OS only supports up to 3gb of RAM. A 64bit OS would be needed to utilize all of the 4gb of memory.
As for the pictures, Newegg has the F9Dc, which is very similar to the F9S, except with a different processor. Link Here
It seems that the 6 cell sticks out as well. = / -
Excaliber PC has press shots of the UK version, which is why the keyboard layout is so messed up (its the standard UK style keyboard, which is rather different from the US one).
The US spec F9S has the same keyboard layout as the F9Dc that admlam linked to. -
F9S looks very nice.

Hello,
Thank you much for your helpful comments and information. It certainly helped a lot. Yes, I do believe it's still at "pre-order" status on Excaliberpc. It says "shipment delayed to 9/28/07" which is already past (-_-;but I'm assuming that the items should be available in stock soon.
