Does anyone know if there is a toll free number that I can contact them regarding my rebate check? Its been more than 2 months since I submitted my rebate and I havent received the $200 rebate for my W5F as of today. I emailed them twice at [email protected] regarding this and I got no response so far. I thought Asus is a great company but I am wondering right now???

You're wondering if they're a great company because you didn't get your rebate check yet? Oook.
They don't even look at them until after the rebate is over for a couple weeks (basically they need to wait for everyone's to be in and they just need to be "postmarked" by the end date).... and then they start to go through them and then they get them all done... then they mail them. Typical turn around is 45-60 days after the rebate ends..... So, if you sent it in right at the begining.... if the rebate is a month or two long... you could be waiting a while.
The people in "sales" are just paper pushers.... you're not going to get much out of them...... all that matters when it comes to a company like that is that they make a good product (check) and that they have good service and support (check)... the rebates are really the marketing department and there's only like one or two guys and they're always out of the office at one place or another.... You could keep calling.... or maybe even email support...... and see if they could just forward your email to the right person. -
It took about 2 months for my check to arrive. Not the quickest turnaround but I never had any doubt about Asus following through either. Rebates for me are like icing on a cake, great when they get here but not something that I bite my nails waiting for.

I've talked about rebates in the past and who Panasonic made us wait for almost 6 months for a $2,500 or so rebate on cameras we bought to demo..... You just have to understand how it works.... they collect all of them and then one unlucky guy (or gal) gets stuck processing the rebates for a week straight........ then they have to make the checks.... and then all the checks need to get signed by the boss (so you know that takes time and can only be done at a certain time).
So..... don't worry..... but you could certainly call and see..... but the sales people don't know jack...... about the computers or certainly your rebate..... they just know what they're told.... so don't blame it on them. In fact, you'd probably get further if you emailed your dealer and asked them if they could forward your question over to Asus... I know that I could even help you out if you emailed me your information... I could forward it to some people and probably get you an answer - unless of course they simply haven't gone through them at all yet. -
Justin,
This is John here and thanks for explaining in details the way that rebate works. I appreciate it. I actually just wanted to find out the status of my rebate but Asus provides only email contact and no telephone number. I sent them two emails in different dates and they never respond and I'm feeling kind of being neglected. Anyway, I will wait for another month, If I still didn't get my rebate, I will ask for your help. By the way, I submitted my rebate on 08/28/06. Thanks and have a great weekend. -

Right... well rebates in general on a massive scale count on things getting lost in the mail and people just forgetting about them...... but Asus isn't really about that (like I said - panasonic certainly is.. and I'm sure other huge companies are as well), but it depends on who you talk to.. I'm not sure who monitors that sales address, but I'll tell you right now - after the lastest round or those that quit and those that were fired..... I'd be surprised if the sales people even know who to check that email, let alone respond... It really speaks nothing of Asus in terms of products or support - but their sales people are supposed to be those that someone like myself would talk to....and I don't talk to them - for good reason.
humm.. 8/28.. ok, that's a long time... email me your name, and all this other rebate info... model, serial#, date mailed, etc.... I'll forward it to someone that should help get to the bottom of it for you. -
I'd strongly suggest you take that info and PM it or e-mail it, like Justin said. You probably don't want everyone on NBR to know your contact info.

Thanks djembe..............

Just want to update that with the help from Justin, President, CEO & Founder of Proportable.com, Asus said it’s been received and processed my rebate and I should receive my check by the end of November or Early December when they actually send it out. Thanks Justin.

Yep, looks as though they've been processing them on arrival, but won't send out the checks till the end of the rebate - that's when they give the boss all of the checks to sign on one day, instead of a handful every day.....

Rebates almost always take forever to recieve. I sent in three rebates for parts I bought for my desktop:
$15 rebate for powersupply - 2.5 months b/f getting it.
$100 rebate for soundcard - 3.5 month b/f getting it.
$30 rebate for graphics card- 3.5+ months and I still haven't gotten it.
I never emailed about it, just patiently waited.
So.... Just hang in there
p.s. If what Pro says is correct, I think it must be very irretating for the email checker to go through the "hundreds (?)" of emails that are about the rebates. No surprise that they haven't answered. I rather not irretate them more! -

Exactly..... and yes, it is correct.. That's how I checked on that customers rebate. But, it's a matter of timing... you can imagine that taking 10-15 minutes out of every day to mess with the rebates would take up more time in the long run... if they wait till it's over and process them as they're coming in.. but wait till the end to cut the checks and get them signed... they can probably keep track of what's going on easier also.
