I heard that the new EEE 901 with the new Atom would be more battery efficent and less hot, but also not as powerful as the celeron!
Is this true? I thought everyone looked forward to Atom because it was much more powerful!?

People looked forward to the Atom cause it was power efficient, which means less heat and more battery life.
Depending on what tasks you do, sometimes the Atom will be more speedy while at other times, it'll be outrun by the Celeron. -
the EEE 1,6 GHz Atom... Will it be better suited for light gaming than say... the current EEE 900?
I thinking on more casual free mainstream games that are coming like Battlefield Heroes and Mythos!? -

I dont think EEE and Gaming belong in the same sentence really.
I would prefer the Atom still even if it was abit slower, it has other improvements and lets hope that the price drops too to compete with the MSI Wind.
The only thing you might find me putting on there would be Final Fantasy 6, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 5, Secret of Mana, Siekendensetsu 3 and maybe a few random others and a SNES emulator, they should play good and being the type of game they are do not require fast reflexes or a controller to play well. Also take up almost no space and can save on the fly via save state witch would go good with the EEE's take & go potential. -
Release date is supposed to be June 3rd and $650.
I can wait for the reviews but at $650 i'm really not nearly as interested as much. I might go for the EEE 900 instead but even that is $550.
I also don't like the look of the EEE 901 as much. -
Don't look for the EEE 901 before late July 2008 in the US.

I believe the MSI Wind is cheaper and has almost the same specs too.

Indeed it does, which makes it a significantly better buy.

I want both to be released soon though
