I do not know if it is right to post it here or not. I just want to know if the vent of the W3J can cause any medical complications to my right hand after extensive use. My right hand is sweating very hard and the heat that is coming off the vent feels very unusual.

This is just a thought. Maybe it is best that I should call a doctor for an advice. Maybe I'm worrying too much about my health. It is also my fault because I did not put into consideration the location of the vent when I bought the system because I didnt think that it will emit too much heat that will reach my hand even if it is 1.5 feet away from the vent after extensive use specially after gaming.

I just want your opinions. Please make me feel better and put away my worries.

Your hand will be fine. Here's an easy solution for you. Fold an index card in half. Stick one half under the right side of the notebook. Angle the the other half of the card so that it deflects the warm air upwards or towards the back.

    Problem solved.

As well, gaming up close isn't good for your eyes(Though, what is these days? Carrots? :p), so for gaming, getting an external keyboard would be a good choice, also sit further back and where your hand isn't near the vent. Also wears out the lappy's keyboard less, I find my WASD keys to be wearing out alot quicker then my other keys...

Of course, a vent deflector is always useful :D

maybe your hand will shrink after a while

but in all honesty, I've played games with my hand about 6" away and it wasnt that sweaty/uncomfortable. So i dunno maybe you just naturally sweat more than i do.. but there's nothing to worry about. Sweating is actually a good thing for the body somewhat

folding an index card maybe useful and im going to try it right away. this will not cause the system to overheat even though it bounces back to the vent right? i am also planning to buy an external keyboard for typing so that i will not wear out the palm rests and use the proper positions of the FN and Ctrl key. but i am not used being far with the lcd screens. maybe a little adjustment will do but not still enough when gaming.

if ASUS just put this vent to the left side........... the left-handed persons are lucky.. why did asus put this vent on the right bec. I think most of the people are right handed.. am i right or im just guessing?? ill just take all your advices..

    And,Have you used a cooling pad,like Targus's Coolmate?
It decreases the heat from the vent and also raises the notebook a bit ...
    Try it...

and for those people that find it difficult to read, here are some pics, it is actually quite funny how well this works, it seems to be just enough to deflect the air up and over your hand.
