Does Anyone think theres a way to get academic pricing on a G1S? I mean I know its not a qualified workstation or anything but it would be handy for school... and a bit of gaming. I also live in Canada which probably makes things harder but if anyone knows about academic pricing please respond!

Since all ASUS notebooks are sold by dealers and resellers, you'd have to contact each of them and see what specials and deals they offer, but usually they don't have such a thing.

Since these are small independent retailers, you're not going to see large corporate discounts that Dell or HP offer, if any. In fact, even if they do, it would be a very small amount that may or may not offset the difference in prices compared to other retailers.

    For example: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=42307
PROPortable offers a $50 discount for students and active military.

I would call MilestonePC up and ask them, or PM him on the forums.

There isn't an official academic program, but resellers offer their own deals, coupons, price matches, and special programs. Contact them as previous posters have noted.

Several resellers offer a slight discount for students. Discounts are usually relatively small, like 2-3%. But every little bit helps. ;)
