Could anyone give me some instruction on how to
access the Mini PCI slot on my M70VN laptop, please?

I send two emails to the customer support centre already but they still think I am referring to the mirco sd card slot on the side....

When you mean access, normally the PCI slot contains a blank filler, simply push to eject and it will pop out and then remove it and plug in your PCI card device... is that what you mean?

You would probably need a disassembly guide for that, we don't seem to have one for your model (Info Booth / Disassembly Guides).

You could try popping up the panels on the bottom of the notebook; and removing the keyboard which is pretty standard procedure on ASUS notebooks (see any of the disassembly manuals). Maybe you get lucky and find the slot is easily accessible like that.

Edit: isn't the miniPCI an internal slot? (e.g., I think the WiFi cards are connected via miniPCI).

Thanks for the information :) Just wonder where could I obtain these disassembly guide apart from asking the UK/NL customer service centre? those guys are not really helping me and they even try to tell me my warrenty would void by switch operating system from vista to other...

I looking to add either TV tuner mini card ot Intel turbo memory to the laptop as I have been told there should be one spare slot available.

Sometimes resellers make the manuals public when the notebook is EOL. Not sure if that is the case for the M70Vn.

For sure warranty is not void by changing OS. Since waranty covers hardware, and the OS is software.
Consider this: you can always wipe the HDD back to the original state. So how can they even tell that you installed something else?

True E.B.E., I though he meant PCI express.

donotemailme, Asus laptops are quite easy to upgrading components, wifi cards ram HDD's etc, I would grab a screw driver and remove some of the pannels under and i'm sure you will find the slots you are after.

I've replaced, CPU, HDD, RAM and upgraded wifi to wirelessN. :D
