I recently purchased an ASUS N56 from XoticPC.com, and they seemed to have removed some of the bloatware during customization, even though I did not ask them too. I could not find any data DVD-burning software on the computer when I received it, and I'm not sure if it was accidentally removed with the bloatware, or if the laptop simply did not come with any DVD-burning software.
I went to the ASUS site and downloaded the Power2Go software since I didn't have any DVD-burning software of my own and because ASUS no longer provides factory-restore discs. During installation and when the program is starting up, Power2Go does not ask for any license or activation keys. However, I noticed an "Enter activation key" option under the software's menu. Since this software was supposed to come with the ASUS laptop, will I still need an activation key to use it? If so, where can I get the activation key?

That's a new one. You really want more bloatware?
But no, that's how the program looks when you get it from Asus. It's trials or partial nagware very often. Cappucino, or what it was, is an encoder with multicore support removed from the trial-version, for example. Worse than nothing, really, even if it wasn't a completely bad program.
But you could just use free alternatives like bwgburn, vlc, handbrake, that kind of thing. Or else buy something really good like Zoom Player, vso software or roxio, etc.
Activation keys required for downloaded ASUS utility software?
