After buying the laptop, when you unpack it straight from the box and boot it uo for the very first time, do you need to install drivers from the ASUS site?

Is this an absolute nessecity? (I dont mind running games with my stock drivers.)

The reason, why I'm asking this, is because when I boot it up for the first time, and install a game (any game) will it run. Or do I have to download these drivers from the Asus website?

    Thx in advance.

All Asus Ensemble laptops come with pre-installed Windows and Drivers. Meaning these laptops are ready to use and can do anything with them right away, including gaming.

There's nothing wrong with gaming on stock drivers, especially stock graphic drivers. I have done all my reviews using stock settings and drivers, and my gaming tests all run fine with those drivers.

You can update drivers if you want from the Asus support website, I do suggest you should remove Asus Live update because it will cause your laptop to hang and it is quite pointless.

And I'm guessing you can remove Asus Live Update, from the Add/Remove programs?

Also REMOVE NORTON (!!!) and save yourself some trouble. Replace it with something less resource hogging. :)

Yeah, I know that Norton goes haha. I'm going to ger AVG Free Version, or maybe buy the real deal.

Is it fairly easy to remove Norton, I've heard horror stories about the uninstallation process!

Edit - I'm getting my A8Js this afternoon!
