I am 18 years old and my Asus G1S should be arriving to my house tomorrow morning. I am most likely going to be the only person present at my house. Does anyone know or has had experience on what the age requirement is to sign the UPS form in exchange for the notebook?

I've been signing for UPS packages since I was about 12. In any case, it was 18 last time I checked. Hell, I just had a firearm shipped to my house and I signed for that (I'm 18).

Yea, there isn't any age requirement for a pickup at your doorstep unless you pick it up from UPS terminal in person.

Yea, though ID would be useful for door pickup. Once my 11 year old niece was the one who received a $600 LCD TV from Dell, my sister was asleep at the time. I don't even think she signed it, but she can't resist opening a door once the doorbell is pressed

As well, make sure they don't just leave it outside, some shipping companies(though it varies) are notorious in doing that. I believe DHL left my $460 Shure headphones on the doorstep once.

Well, I don't know about that. I've been asked my last name once or twice to verify I'm related, at least. I've lied about my last name so I can receive packages for my friend when he doesn't want to answer the door in boxers

No one will know that it is an expensive headphone :p. From my experience, only Canada Post will leave it out. For UPS, you have to write a big note with your signature to get them drop it off in front of your door.

UPS is pretty stupid when it comes to delivery. They left $1500 worth of computer parts from Newegg sitting at my front door. The guy just rang the doorbell and walked off.

    yeah.. they do that sometimes...

I'm 17 and picked up my Dell E1705 and Z84j. last year... :D . There isn't any age requirement. As long as they know that you coming from that door, u're the one who lives there.

They know the sender, so they can guess about what it is. No, from what I understand, resellers are not legally allowed to tell shipping companies what they're shipping.

UPS doesn't even ring the door for me. 99% of the time, it's the screeching brakes that tell me it's UPS at my door. I ordered $300 worth of stuff from Newegg. When I checked outside, no one was there but lo and behold, a box was sitting outside for god knows how long in the frickn heat.

If the Box tells them to ask for a Signature they will get it, otherwise most times they will leave it

Our local UPS driver is excellent and very secure with our delieveries. Often though the USPS guy is horrible about leaving items not even tucked in where they can be easily taken.

I've only had to sign for two things, ever.

First: paintball mask ($50), company I ordered from made it so somebody had to be home, otherwise I had to go to a depot Q-Q

Second: two days ago. $4000 mattress for the 'rents

I've had them leave $2000+ of stuff from newegg in the snow on more than one occasion. They don't care.

Coincidentally, I got tomorrow off from work, and my G1S comes tomorrow... more time to play (and sign for packages :eyerolls: )

Im in Canada (Quebec) and Ill have my G1S shipped soon from NCIX. The thing is I live in an appartment building. Do you think they'll come in the building and right to my appartment door and give it to me or they'll just give it to post office that's like 5 minutes from where I live?... I never had something delivered so thats why I really dont know

UPS is extremely stupid when it comes to delivery. Many years ago, my father had a handgun shipped to his home. The UPS guy came while he was at a Springsteen concert. When my dad got home he figured he'd check to see if there was a slip from UPS saying there was a delivery attempt. Instead he found his handgun on his doorstep (boxed up, of course, but it WAS supposed to be signed for) :D

On another note, Chey, typically they'll come to your building. If you're there, they'll give it to you, if you're not they'll leave a slip stating where it is. Some apartment buildings will store deliveries for their tenants, but not usually for things that need to be signed for.
