i'm more interested in the mobility 4850 :D. i think the 260m gtx is just a renamed card, nothing new :(

Hmm the price will be very interesting. We'll find out if Nvidia really wants to compete with ATi's mobile scene bumrush.

I guess I'll go out on the limb with a $1400-1600 USD prediction.

the 260M is the 55nm version of the 9800M GTX.

    9800M GTX = 500/1250/800
GTX 260M = 550/1375/950, plus it should run cooler and be more overclockable

If only the G50/G71 GPUs were solidly swappable... =(

If they put that out for $1400 I will eat my hat. And buy one! :)

    I think it'll be around $2000.

So they finally replaced 9800m GS with 9800m GTX+ (260m),G71 suddenly became awesome imo...

Now if only Asus get rid of the glossy screen, and intel lower the mobile quad price already...

Why wouldn't they put a mobility 4870 in there instead? Is the nvidia 260 faster? I am waiting for Asus to offer something in 17 in. with a mobility 4870.

I like this model so far. I've been eying the 4860 card in the K series, but WUXGA and 2 HDD bays are selling me here. I may end up with another nvidia notebook after all. Here's hoping we see a 4870 version of this though.

Also, I really hope it's not close to 2k for this laptop. THe W90 isn't that much more with a dual card setup.

They should have just made the darn G50 and G71 the same just one with smaller battery.... Cases are almost the same size...

I wish I could put the G71 screen on my g50, lol.... The cards are interchangable also... I dont think the cooling would be too big of an issue as its only 10watt more power usage. Now the headsink may not line up right though.

I swapped my t9400 for a p9600 so the 10watt wouldnt hurt me, now only if we could buy stand alone MXM3 cards, haha

Add something like RGBLED screen would be awesome, but consider G71 already have dual lamp, can't complaint.
