    Hey folks-

Am currently in the market for a new laptop for my girlfriend, and seeing as how we're living in New Zealand right now, our choices pretty much come down to ASUS, Acer, HP, or Sony- of which ASUS has so far emerged as the superior choice.

She's looking at spending around a grand, +/- 200 NZD or so, which means that as of now, the options are the A53sv, K53sv, and N53sv.

From what I can tell, the A and K machines are for the most part identical, though the K seems to be the only one we can find that has a 2GB variant of the 540m graphics card (which they all share).

The N53 seems to be newer, with a different design and B&O speakers, but is also a bit more expensive for the same specs as the A53.

Any thoughts or suggestions from people who know what they're talking about? I'm a through-and-through Dell/Alienware man, so when it comes to these machines, I know next to nothing.

    Thanks for the help!
