I got a g73 the other day from best buy in a warranty exchange fr my G71. I reinstalled windows 7 64 bit onto my ssd, but now I can't install the Intel Turbo Boost Technology driver nor the turbo boost monitor. It says my computer does not meet the minimum requirements.

Does this mean my i7 isnt boosting up to 2.8Ghz? If so, how should I go about trying to fix this? Thanks.

It is the right one. I double checked that it was the right model and 64 bit. I have double checked under system management that it is 64 bit that's installed, and I've downloaded it 3 times and there is a "x64" folder in the zip file so I don't think it's that... :(

Well, I remember reading that one of them was misnamed or something like that on the ASUS website, and I think I had the same thing come up at one point. I'm trying to remember if it was specifically that driver or not.

BTW under processors I have Intel i7 Q720 @ 1.60 8 times. I assume this is not normal? Maybe I should uninstall and reinstall the chipset driver.

no, that is normal. 4 cores at 2 threads each (via hyper-threading) means the OS sees it as 8.

It's normal- quad core with hyperthreading or whatever they're calling it for the i series: 4 x 2 = 8.
