i just noticed that my hibernation mode does not work anymore when i pressed the power button after i installed the beta bios. i also noticed that to hibernate the system, i must select the "hibernate now" option in the power 4 gear in my system tray but this does not always work. i just noticed this today because i haven't hibernated my computer since sept. 28, the day when i installed the beta bios. trust me, i always use hibernation bec. i always want to resume my project im currently working. it just happens that i always accidentally fall asleep when i rest during the night and forget to hibernate my pc and will just continue my work in the day. (bad habit :D )

so i searched this asus forum if the issue has been addressed already and found that there has been a report that their power modes are fixed if they uncheck the "Prompt for password when computer resumes from standby" in the advance tab of power options.so i tried it and it fixed the issue. but this solution is way off the hibernation issue. what does standby got to do with hibernation? weird eh?! i really need this option for security purposes in case i forgot to hibernate my system.

here are my settings for reference
-power options and power 4 gear settings are all set to "Never"
-the pc does nothing when the lid is closed
-hibernates when the power button is pressed
-standby when the sleep button is pressed
-i reinstalled windows xp pro, reformatted it to NTFS,partitioned it to 2 drives using the windows xp pro cd provided in my Dell E1505 and use the cd key of W3J. (haven't had any issue after this installation => 0% until this reinstallation)

btw, the screen really looks beautiful now after the update. pictures are so sharp and clean.
