And the G50Vt color is .... orange.

I saw it mentioned that Newegg had posted a picture of the new G50Vt-X2 box on their site. They mentioned that it looked like the system would be bundled with Alone in the Dark.

I checked out the picture and noticed the file name ended with a number,

So browsed to the numbers up from that, and sure enough, Newegg has six more pictures .... of an orange laptop The last picture shows a Alone in the Dark disc, so I assume this is for the G50Vt, not the older G50v. ****, time to start looking for a new laptop again ....

 

They never fail to amaze me how they can always screw up on at least 1 thing for every single laptop.

 

Seriously...

Now I am looking at the HP HDX16t. Doesn't have the build quality or graphics power of the G50vt, but at least I can take it to court and school without making everyone giggle.

I guess I should just bite the bullet and build a new desktop machine.

 

I wish they would at least consider taking out the orange part and replacing it with something else, even if its not grey (dont mention pink, lol)

 

You can subtract the number in the picture too, and this one clearly proves it (has Alone in the Dark sticker, and orange):

I had an HDX16t.. I bought one when they first came out and there was a good coupon for it. I actually called to cancel my order and they give me another $150 off in addition to my $500 off coupon, ... so I had a decent deal. Now you can get that same price with better equipment, for cheaper. Go figure.

I returned it. It wasn't horrible... but it wasn't good with battery life at all, the build quality was lacking, and it just screamed 'average joe.' It is suppose to be their high-end laptop.. and it has decent hardware... but in reality, when you really look at it--- I prefered to have a laptop from a manufacturer like Asus or MSI. part of it is a personal choice, but I feel better knowing my product isn't from Dell or HP, etc. They have awful customer support too, btw.

Also, the G50v-X1 had pictures of the "Alone in the Dark" CD...

If you look closely at the sticker on the keyboard, it says "Centrino 2" which if I remember correctly, is only in the G50VT and not the G50V, so it is indeed going to be orange unless they release a revision or different model that is the different color scheme (which I hope but doubt). I was so close to buying one of these and now I'm thinking of looking elsewhere; I just cannot stand that orange and I don't want to have to custom paint it just to get it something else. If ASUS was to offer a kit to change the orange trim out with the silver trim, for a low price, it would be perfect.

 

Is this thread from yesterday? It looks the same as my g50v, how do you know the exact version? mine only says G50V, nothing like -A1 or vt?

 

@Matrinix: The G50V is also Centrino 2.

Have any of you guys noticed the orange trim on the LCD lid? On the G50V, the lid is completely black, but on these NewEgg G50VT-X2 pictures, there's an orange stripe going across the edge:



To me, it seems strange that the Best Buy version alone would have the new color scheme, but these pictures seem to suggest that the new one is indeed orange - with extra orange added!

 

The G50Vt at Best Buy looks sick. They should have kept that colour scheme and lid design...

Honestly, if you guys don't buy one the best bang for buck laptops on the market because other people will laugh of the color you really need to get your priorities straight. Buy something to cover the orange part and get over it!

It could be pink with an Hello Kitty logo for all i care, i would buy it anyway.

 

It's not only the orange color, it is the orange color that puts it over the top for me though. The other things I am concerned about are the keyboard, sound, and lag issues; but I was willing to accept those if it had the Best Buy color scheme; but if it does not, I may look elsewhere for an equivalent notebook that way I don't have to worry about keyboard, sound, and lag issues (such as the MSI GT627 which is very similarly spec'd).
