Everytime I use my computer there is a pop from "Asus Live Update" that tells me to download the "Bios 203" version to update my computer. I'm fine with updating it but everytime I try to do it the updating progress stops after about a 10th is finished. I have no choice but to exit and it'll pester me to update a couple hours later. I wanna figure out how to fix this so I can update successfully and stop this popup once and for all. I have the Asus M50-SA version btw.

Delete/uninstall Asus Live Update. It's not useful at all and barely works.

Are there any other programs that are pretty much useless? I tried getting rid of the bloatware before but I made the mistake of trying to take everything out at once. Doing one by one is what I plan on doing.

Well, ASUS laptops barely come with any bloatware, maybe upgrading the video drivers... Nothing else to do.

As for the ASUS Update thing, it actually never worked for me as I remember, and on top of that it went crazy and took %50 of the CPU performance (a core out of the two, the maximum amount that a single threaded program can take) before I killed it with the task manager.

The only thing I kept was P4G. Everything else seemed unnecessary for me.

Isn't LifeFrame needed for the webcam to work?

Nope. As long as the drivers there, webcam will work perfectly.

Then where do I go to if I want to record a video or take a picture? Sorry, I'm little confused here :p

Oh.. I was under the impression of using the webcam to video chat/conference, which MSN, Skype etc, will activate your webcam automatically. But if you want to record videos and take pictures, LifeFrame and many other free video capture programs will do the job.
    Sorry for the misunderstanding...

As there wasn't any complete answer on what ASUS software to keep and what not, I will point you to my Vista optimization thread (link in sig). It lists some of the commonly uninstalled bloatware. :)
