    Hi guys,

I'm having a hell of a time with my new Asus M51VR.

it seems that I have some sort of keyboard lag. I have only had the laptop for 2 days and at first I thought it was the keyboard wearing in, but now I think it is something technicl.

I touchtype at around 90wpm, and it seems like the Asus can't keep up.

It really is starting to get on my nerves. I have to slow down a lot, and really bash the keys for it to recognize. I think it is also accentuated by the keyboard layout..

Is this jus the keyborad wearing in, or is it a case of an unresponsive board? I am thinking of taking it back to the store, but perhaps there is a quick-fix? I thought maybe some of the Asus bloat ware might be having an effect.

This is a well-known problem on these forums. See for instance the G50V owner's lounge, 1st post, and also the "Solutions to the M50 keyboard lag" thread (find links to these threads in the Info Booth).

Bottom line, most effective fix is removing the Synaptics Touchpad driver and running with the default Windows touchpad driver.

Did Bios 207 not fix the G50V problem?

    I'm still using the original.

Mixed reports. For some people it worked, for others not. But this is about another laptop, M51Vr.

And this leads me to a grain-of-salt that I want to add to my previous post: noone mentioned the keyboard lag problem on the M51Vr, so I am actually not sure that the OP's keylag is caused by this particular problem with the Synaptics driver. But I think it's quite likely.

Just temporary uninstall the touchpad driver before Asus update the BIOS, touchpad will still work without Synaptics driver and keyobard lag problem goes away.
