it is possible. I installed Win 7 RC1 on my now kaput G2S which is the larger screen version of the g1S. It worked great.

the G1 and G1s are different laptops. the g1 was an xp model if I remember correctly. either way you should be fine to install win7 on it.

It's installed (Win7 Ultimate), but missing some drivers.

Actually my bro's laptop, so I'll have to get more specific info from him.

Meanwhile, does anyone have driver links/files to share?

I guess we should start with the chipset drivers, then ethernet and wireless.

I told him to try the Vista (32) drivers if all else fails.

I instaled Win7 (64X) in my asus g1s! Absolutely no problems, all the drivers working, it automatically instaled almost the drivers, i only instaled the VGA, intel turbo memory and the asus hotkeys (vista 64X drive in asus website).

    Working great! ;)

Actually the G1 had vista. Maybe in the begining it had XP. I ordered a G1 for a friend of mine in 2007 and the G1 had and Nvidia GPU with Vista Home Premium installed. I read the tittle wrong and responded with G1S :p .
